How many of you have seen the red rings of death?

lol one more reasons added to my list of not buying XBOX 360

I saw the rings of death in 2003 with my original xbox... it happened after I had plugged it in, i'm guessing an electric charge shorted out something on the motherboard.

Well, technically a few times... but that's because I live in Florida and we get power surges quite a bit down here due to the amount of lightning strikes. You see the 3 red rings when there's a power surge, and I've probably had it happen 3 times or so.

That being said, apart from the power surges, never.

I have seen it twice on my brother-in-laws xbox360. I also saw the ring of death on a one hour old Rainbow 6 Vegas game. I have had no problems. I think it has a lot to do with how you use the 360. He was always moving it around with disks in it, that was when the rainbow 6 disk death happened. He also leaves it on the carpet (bad for the bottom air vents). He's still a kid though. Mine has worked fine--sitting in the entertainment system treated like a king. But, I don't doubt that it could happen even to the most careful person--who loves and cherishes it.

crist please tel me you have 360, because im getting the feeling your here to bash somehow..

as for me i've only seen it once and i had to to best buy to get another one.

i am on my third my first had the three red lights and second would not read game disks just got my third back today hope its gooddragontank28

same deal with me.. rod on my 1st and problems with the disc tray/lense with my 2nd

Once, but my 360 worked after that.
