Well me personally, can't stand NOT to use Live. lol Games just seem to be a whole lot more fun when connected to Live for some reason. One of my friends, though, doesn't use Live for any online uses except for Halo 3 (ewwwww). And my brother also, he NEVER uses Live. Just really has a bunch of games he never plays and mainly just watches movies on it. He's a weird guy. lol
I've had a 360 for a few years and I only got Gold a few months ago. I couldn't stand the idea of paying for something like that, but I caved in. I don't think it's worth it at all even though it's so cheap, but what can you do?
I have Live but I hardly ever use it anymore. I'm just so tired from work that I usually go on my PC and play some Counterstrike. That might change though when I pick up Halo:ODST this afternoon:)
I used Live when I first got my console and wasn't incredibly impressed. I don't do much online gaming at all, and if I get the hankering to I have a PS3 to do it on. For the amount of time I spend playing online I just don't see even 3 dollars a month for it as a good investment. I usually just stick with single-player or split-screen multiplayer.
I had it for a year. I didn't play enough online and when I did I didn't enjoy it... so I canceled it. I won't pay for online multiplayer again. I prefer local multiplayer or single player games more anyhow.
I only use Live for demo's and updates. I'm a singleplayer guy. I prefer action packed technical campaigns. Not the gay techniques used online. I just don't think it's fun. I do, however, do split screen co-op or something with a friend at times. But that's different then doing it on Live.
I have an elite and never pay for live. I just use free codes that come with some games. I prefer single player campaigns, to many kids on live that are really annoying.
No, I don't want to pay for the service and I don't really have fun when playing online. So I have been silver since I got the 360, only using some trial codes every now and then.
I used to have no need for Xbox live but a few months after owning an Xbox 360 I just couldn't resist. There are a lot of great singleplayer games but there are also a few great games with multiplayer so I had to get it.
I play with friends or even just get on and chat with buddies from college when we're both playing different games all of the time. It's a great way for me to keep in touch with people aside from being able to play great games with them and others online. I wouldn't know what to do without Live at this point.
I had been using the console without Live for a couple of years, then I decided to get it for Left 4 Dead. I'm pretty happy with it, I'd feel a big part of Xbox would be missing if a didn't have it.
I have had an xbox for just over a year and I went online about six months ago. I think the updates are great, the demos and some of the arcade games are brilliant, but playing over xbox live eg Gears 2 or Halo 3 I find boring and for every decent human being you find on there, you have to put up with a hundred sad morons. So when my account goes to silver I have to seriously consider whether or not I should renew it.
i had an xbox for like a year without live living in the dorms, i sold it because i thought i didn't play it enough. once i got my own place with real internet i rebought the xbox with LIVE. haven't been back since... that was 2 years ago? i think 3$ a month is fairly acceptable compared to just one MMORPG which can be quite rediculous (cough everquest and WOW cough)
A BIG PART is that most of my friends in my hometown (i moved for school) play on live, so i find it one of the best ways to stay in contact with them.
