yeh... well discs shouldnt get many scratches on them anyways..l i mean natural reasons the console, the way u bought it ect r normal and that wont stop it from working.. But if u purposly scratch it of course it will or ur dog eats it(but how they should b in the cover:P) even scratches ur little sister or brother accedently do to it wont harm it only if u dig into it with a kife or something:P

A surface scratch should be fine, but if you dig a little trench in it... you might have some problems lol :D
Thing I always found with my old PS1 games was not scratches, but smudges and finger prints that caused the most problems, thankfuly they can just be wiped off. But remember kids, protect your games! They might just save your life some day..... what? It could happen...

A disc can take about 999,999 before it stops working. Scratches can be removed simply by bringing it to a nearby video store that has a disc cleaner.

Six, that's all. In all seriousness, it depends on the severity of the scratch. If they're deep, a few or less. If they're minor, then a bunch of em. As long as it reads don't worry about it.

just like Staryoshi87 said it reli depends how deep the scratch is, iv had games that had tons of scratches but arnt that deep and is playable. then ive hada game thats had one deep scratch and its unplayable. the thing to do is just look after the disc as well as u can.

It really depends on how the scratch is. On 360 and PS3, like others said, surface scratches are okay. Only the Wii is extremely sensitive to scratches. You'd expect a 360 disc to have a ton of scratches seeing as the disc tray is plastic.

My ex gf, used to not give a crap about my games and just take them out and leave them on the side then move them without picking them up and just pushing them. Safe to say they had some pretty tide scratches, yet I never had a problem with a scratched disc.

It's not how many scratches that count, but a lot of other factors. The biggest, believe it or not, is direction. The more radial (from inside to out) it is, the worse it is. Also, depth of the scratch is important. Lastly, the disc drive itself also matters as some are more sensitive than others. The more diffractive the surface is due to the scratch, the more troublesome that scratch will be.

Yeah I had to yell at my wife just this morning cause she took my oblivion disc out and placed it face down which is a definite no no. It got a few scratches but I'm sure it'll be fine. She could care less about that sort of thing though.
