My XBox RRod'd once. They sent me a new system and the new system has worked like a charm ever since. Ironically, it is now my TV that broke. So I'm stuck using this old vacuum tube thing while my nice Samsung HDtv is in the shop. Which sucks, becuase everything is so dark in Gears of War 2 that I can barely see a thing and end up groping around blindly when the lights go down. I'm not even going to play Dead Space until I get my TV fixed.
Twice. Then I learned how to fix it from my friend and now it can't get RROD anymore. There are tutorials all over the internet how to fix RROD yourself for good.
It's really amazing how Microsoft cut back on such stuff that would prevent this. I wonder why. Because the costs of putting it in every 360 seems lower to me then replacing every 6th console. Especially if you take shipping into account.
