mine was a launch console....broken twice. less than 6 months apart and they tried to make me pay for it twice (LET ME TALK TO YOUR SUPERVISOR) Anyway, I haven't paid for either and really don't think I should have to ever. I'm guessing it will break again within a year and I'll end up sending it in. I rarely have time for gaming anyway so its not a huge loss (I catch up on my reading)
You do realize that with this kind of thread you're going to mostly get replies by ppl who have had at least 1 broken 360... So you won't really get accurrate data.
2x. It broke over the summer and then it broke again 1 month later. So far, going strong, I'm almost positive I have the new heatsink because my 360 is really cool. Hopefully I won't have to send it in again.
Im on my third so it has broken twice. I love the xbox360 but its just junk. It is such a rip of when you get a refurbished xbox and then your warranty dosnt expand, then the refurbished one breaks and you have to pay $99 just to get another refurbished one just so it can break again. THIS IS TOTAL BULLCRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Microsoft is taking our money!!!!
twice. both had problems with scratching my discs. they were both late 2006 models, which is when the disc scratching issue came up the most. i told them i want a 2008 model because im sick of all the crap and i also got a discount, payed 75 bucks instead of 100.
My PS3 has never broken and most likely never will. Thankfully I did my research before deciding which console to get (I'm a PC gamer at heart), and after reading threads like this I was like "what the hell?". Then I discovered the 360 was louder than a vaccuum cleaner (I exagerate, but you get the idea), didn't come with a built in, upgradeable HD, didn't have built in WiFi, costs $50 a year to use it's online content, didn't have blu ray, and just about every game on the 360 is out or is coming out on the PC. Now I'm getting used to relaxing on my sofa playing MLB 08 on my ugraded, 320GB PS3 and looking foward to all the great exclusive games coming out this year. Ahhhh...... life is good for this PS3 fanboy, and the best thing is I don't have to stress about when, not if, my 360 will kick the bucket! You guys should have learned when your first one broke on you. Get a decent PC and a PS3 and you will know the meaning of contentment.
