I mean everyone appears like Halo was so awsome. But I never really got into it. I found the single player to be average. But the part I did not like was the multiplayer mode. this is due to the fact it takes so much shoots to kill someone. I mean I'm like blasting for like 5 seconds (using SMG) and finally the sheild goes away. I mainly like games where one to 3 shoots would kill someone. this maybe the reason I never got into gears of wars online (I liked co-op and sp). But COD3 is awsome. And the bad thing is that everyone wants to play halo. And everytime we play like I'm not wooping ass (because I never really play it) but instead pretty even (with these so called halo experts, their really not).Halo does have its good points for me. Airplane was cool and I liked the tanks. Now that Halo 3 is coming out I'll probably get it, just so people can come over and play Halo 3 (since no one I know has a X360). I wish COD4 would get the attention that Halo 3 gets. then I would be able to woop my friends bady since I would actually be good at it.
I know what your saying...Thats why when I used to play Halo 2 I would take Shields off so you would die quicker. I hate to say it but if I had to pick between playing Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4, or Halo 3, I would probably pick a Call of Duty.

I haven't played in a while but I am pretty sure you can. You have to make it custom though. When you make it custom I think it is only available to people on your friends list, and people you invite. But once again, I may be wrong I haven't played it in ages.
Don't get me wrong though the multiplayer is really fun. It just takes me a little while to get warmed up because I am not that good. :lol:

Yeah Crimson skies was awsome. For Xbox live I think my most played game was ghost recon 2 and crimson skies.
I like to play the original, but when it comes to Halo 2 I can't stand playing it. It just annoys me to no end. I think it has to do with the fact that I feel like my bullets arn't hurting people. That being said I'm so glad my roommate is buyin Halo 3 so I can play the single player mode when he is not playin the game. Hell I'll just play the story mode with him.
Back before I got an Xbox... I was a hardcore "Microsoft should never have gotten into games" kind of person... and the whole "Halo sucks" think came along with it... then I got an Xbox and went "this isn't that bad" then played Halo and went "Well this still sucks." so... yeah. I'm not a Halo Fan.
only reason I'm getting the third is because so many people will be playing it online, that a lot of people will probably leave Rainbow 6 Vegas online (my current online addiction) so they can play H3.
As for the rest of your question, I never really liked it from the start. Both games were average in my book, and it felt so been there done that before since I've been playing PC shooters since the first Castle Wolfenstein in the early 90's.
I love Halo.I've played some other amazing online shooters like Rainbow Six 3, Rainbow Six Vegas, Call of Duty 2, and Gears of War but I always come back to Halo 2.
I was never big into Halo but the announcement of online co-op means that I will buy the game. My buddies and I buy a lot of games strictly to play co-op online because death matches get old to us real quick.
I own Halo 2, and never really was a big fan of it. I will still buy Halo 3 as I'm sure it will be a great game. Probably not my favorite, but I'm sure I will have a good time playing it.

I'm right there with you. I've owned every Halo but wasn't overly impressed with any of them. I'm really buying the game to see what happens due to the cliffhanger ending in Halo 2. The Co-op online mode will definitely be nice. However, I'm more looking forward to Call of Duty 4 and Unreal Tournament 3 this year. Halo 3 is fourth on my list after Mass Effect.
yea i never got into halo either b/c i didnt have the original xbox.... but i bought halo 2 wen i got a 360.... i still havent beaten it yet b/c it gets boring over awhile... but the online play is really good... ima get halo3 b/c every1 will be playin it and gears will die out
I just played Halo: combat evolved yesterday. It is a very well made game, to be sure. The guns are good, the scenery is good, the mechanics of everthing are good. the game just plays very well, but I dont really like it. It's just a shooter. Just a shooter. I'll get Halo 3 bec of the graphics and bec. nothing else remotely interesting is going to be out.

Halo, in the past, was nothing that impressive in my opinion. I always thought it was ridiculous and way too unrealistic for me. But now, almost 3 years later, I'm getting interested in the series and I'm willing to give Halo 3 my $60. We'll see what happens.
i did and it was awesome because its very easy to get into. i started playing last august and now im a pro. Im dont like call of duty that much because you get to spawn with any weapon you like and that just isnt very balenced and its very hard to get into ranked matches because they take so long and that also makes me hate it.
i dunno. thanks to a beefier single-player and coop campaign, i can actually say, for once, that i'm kind of jazzed for a Halo title. I think Halo3 will appeal to a pretty broad range of gamers. we'll see what happens.
As someone who played Halo 2 Online for...1, maybe even 2 years, I can officially say it's shallower than a puddle full of Brittney Spears. Sure, you get on, "Hey look! They have online 4v4 matches! Time to pwn some nOObs!" In reality, "God damn, ANOTHER online multiplayer, being BORED with more MODDERS, not being able to move because SOME people have NO lives and decide to jack up a decent game online because they SUCK so BADLY at it and have to CHEAT to WIN." That's the truth behind it.
Don't bother, it's not worth it. The beta, yes I know it was just a very vague concept of the game, was fun for a while, but people were already finding ways to mess it up, so they have the advantages (AKA unlimited active camo, shoot through walls, hide behind surfaces otherwise unreachable, etc). And some of the weapons are fun, but it's just the same uninspired combat as the first two Halos. Overall, Halo 1 was the best, can't beat the originals.
Seems like the majority here like Halo but dont' love it, so where does all this hype come from? I am starting to feel like Halo is one of the most over-hyped game series in history. I am pretty much in the same boat as majority here, i liked Halo and thought it was a well done game but it was but no means as good as it was hyped up to be. I will get Halo 3 cause i know it'll be a quality game but i don't feel the need to run out and buy it immediately when it's released.

I have always hated 1st person shooters. I have always hated traditional RPGs. I bought Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic way back when and it totally changed the way I felt about turn-based combat. Some games can pull it off. I figured if I gave Halo a try it might do the same for me as far as maybe liking a FPS. It didn't. Halo was alright. I was actually intrigued enough to play through a few levels which says a lot about it because I generally steer clear of FPS' but it was just alright to me. I don't really get how people get all nutty about this gave but to each his own.

only reason that all there aren't a lot of halo lovers are because they are laying halo2 right now and there is not as much cheating as gears of war. I haven't been moded for a couple of months or standbyed because they fixed it.
I never got into it because I didn't have the first X Box. I played it on the computer and it was great. However, when I had a chance of playing on the Xbox it was great, it liked it more than the pc version. Now I'm getting Collector's edition (not legendary) and will probably buy the two previous Halo's just for getting into the complete story and having fun playing it with all my friends, which happen to be Halo lovers.

You can play with shields off in matchmaking, it is called Team SWAT.
Well the SMG isn't really good (especially when not dual weilding) for MP. Secondly games like Halo are more arcade-y and not very realistic so thats why it takes more to kill someone. Thats fine if that style isn't your thing but don't knock it just because it has a different style.
