How often does your Xbox freeze?

i am just curious, i have no idea whether my Xbox is freezing because of my Hard drive or what. But it does seem to freeze a lot on GTA IV and rarely on L4d and alot more on The Orange box. it just recently started freezing on The Darknesss! It usually does when im playing madden.

but the thing about this is that it usually freezes on the LOADING screens. Rarely does it freeze during actual gameplay. I just hope im not screwed because there are some games where it doesn't freeze at all.

Um, you need to add another option for only 3-5 times in 2 years. I'd pick that one.

Haven't had any freezing probs since my 360 returned from the repair center after it RROD on me, all I can say is that your 360 is freezing almost all the time its a sign your 360 is on the verge of failing on you, be warned you could see the RROD anytime now, thats how it was before my console hit the bucket.

I would really like to answer your question, but I don't want to Jinx my console.. Let's just say.. "what number comes between one and three ?!

The only time mine has frozen is when I was waiting for Netflix to load up.

Only on Fallout 3 but it was a glitch in the game not the system. After they patched it the game never froze for me or my xbox 360.

mine has only frozen a couple of times... ive had my 360 for over 6-7 months. n only has happened playing GH:WT. when i play online. maybe cuz the host has a crappy connection. one thing that has happened more then 5 times is that i put a disc on the tray n the screen goes black like when its loading. n nothing happens.

My xbox rarely freezes. The only time it has was once in Fallout 3, pre patch. since the patch my xbox hasn't freezed once.

once every 2 weeks or so, but freezing are sighns of red light:(

It happened to me once or twice for the time I've had it (5 months)

there needs to be a never option cause ive had my 360 for over a year and never had any problems with it in any way (knock on wood)

only on left 4 dead and GTA IV if not installed

I've had my xbox for probably about 20-24 months now and it's only frozen a couple of times, for example, on Fallout 3 yesterday I'd been playing quite happyily for about an hour when it froze, I hadn't saved (school boy error I know :P). If your console keeps freezing on a regular basis it might be a sign its on its way out.

My 360 has only frozen when I played Fallout 3. Other than that it's been smooth sailing. *knocks on wood*

Should console owners really have to fear their product failing? It's a pretty expensive system, I had my first 360 for about a year.. then ironically when I bought my first hd tv my xbox froze on my other analog shortly before i'd intended on trying out the hd experience. I ended up buying a ps3 and enjoying it immensely, (before you slam me I own all consoles) MS really put me off with hardware failures. It's happened to all my friends, I do like certain games on the xbox more than ps3 like fallout and deadspace.. I ended up getting another xbox from the manufacterer, it was a crappy refurb in worse condition than the xbox that red ringed, in fear of another RROD I traded it up for an elite. I haven't had any probs other than the occasional fallout freeze, still.. I hate the fact that I had to pay that much more just to get something that wouldn't break. It's not an uncommon problem, for those on the thread who have doubted they just have to read the admitted 30% failure rate. A reminder thats the ADMITTED failure rate, it's appauling. Even when they added an hdmi to normal consoles they didn't do much to ensure RROD wouldn't happen, keeping in mind the RROD isn't the only hardware failure the system has. In the meantime my wii and ps3 haven't failed once.. and I don't have to worry about my expensive purchase being compromised.

My original xbox 360 I got at launch was freezing like crazy and I just mailed it in Microsoft replaced it. That 360 they replaced there was obvisously a problem or they wouldn't have replaced it. Now, lets go to my 2nd xbox 360 it freezes here and there once in a blue moon but, not as often as the first one did. But, when I was on military R&R I was dissapointed in my 2nd 360 becuase the disc would not open after I took the game that was in there out. Well, I ended up ripping out the drive and mailing it back to Microsoft. But, I haven't tried it since I came off leave. Now, I have a Halo 3 xbox 360 I bought overseas and that one freezed at least 2 or 3 times. I don't really care anymore I still like the 360 if it breaks I'll just buy another one.

my new Elite i bought 2 weeks ago hasn't frozen at all yet and my previous 360 Pro.-i had for over a year never froze.
