i just brought my copy from ebay in time for xmas for the xbox 360. Can i install the game on hdd without worrying about textures? i enjoyed oblivion a lot and does the game run as smoothly as oblivion? any tips on avoiding major glitches? any sort of advice and opinion on the xbox version of skyrim would be much appreciated

It runs better than Oblivion, I have had some odd times in a dungeon where the framerate just plummits for no reason but it only happened like 2 times. Installing helps load times a little but even after the patch the textures can load late. There are a few glitches, just save often.

This is the best advice. Even so, you may find yourself stuck with one or two glitches. If you're lucky, they'll only affect minor side quests.

I've been playing it for a number of days and I've yet to come across any real issues. But yes saving often is the best advice one can give.

I'll echo the "save often" sentiment and add that I haven't had anything too bad happen to me over my past 35 hours or so; the only thing that happened (after the second patch) was a dragon lost all textures, but as soon as I killed it the textures popped back in. Shortly after that I died fighting ice wolves of all things and while loading my checkpoint the game completely froze. Those are literally the only 2 things to happen.

If you can stand the noise of your DVD drive, run the game off of the disc, because for what I can tell, even after the patch, the texture issues aren't fully resolved. In my opinion you stand to gain more of a graphical advantage from the disc, than you are a load time advantage fom the HDD.

I played 120 hours with 2 game freezes and completed the main quest. It should'nt be a problem.

Just over 50 hours and I've ran into 2 freezes (both during loading with quick travel) and 2 game breaking bugs at the end of the main quest. I'd suggest making a new save file each time you save, and delete the ones you know you'll never go back to (EX: Have 20 or so saves at a time, deleting the older ones).

55 hours in and the only problem I have encountered was a dragon flying in place. I've had several dragon encounters since without any problems. Running the game from the disk and the textures have been fine - just have to deal with slightly longer loading times. So far Skyrim has been my smoothest Elder Scrolls experience (played Oblivion on 360 and Morrowind on original xbox).

40 hours in and only had it freeze up twice. Save often, you never know when it will happen!

Ive had MAYBE 1-2 freezes in 70+ hrs. GREAT experience with the game so far.

Ive been playing offline until 1.3 is released though. never had any problems before 1.2, & heard all the horror stories of the update, so i skipped that one for now.

Occasional bugs, freezes, and glitches. That aside, just save a lot and enjoy the experience. The game is very playable.

I'm 60 hours in with, shocking, a couple of freezes so far. It works great and pretty much like every Bethesda game I've played on the 360. Some glitches here and there but nothing that made me not want to play it anymore.

Skyrim doesn't bug or glitch on me, though the framerate does drop sometimes.

I've had a couple of graphical glitches, but nothing awful so far. Luckily, the 3 autosaves are a really good idea of Bethesda's.

Load screens are kinda long at times. Still goty imo (playing on xbox). There are crashes but they apparently happen on pc as well. Really fun game.

My character fell through map due to my uncertain explorations and i also forgot stop "auto 15 minute save" in options menu resulting in me constantly loading up there all time, so i went later load stage and resulting in me being back level 10 again ahhhhhh. rage fury, dam im getting this for pc so when it does crash maybe ill have console camands help me out, plus rumour mods making multiplayer coop for pc but since it needs to be licensed thru bethesda studios it may not come on console since it breaches both sides.

And ridable dragon

google earth visuals when looking at world map you can zoom in close

And mammoth riding

Just recently you can use mic commands to make shouts for pc

Did i not forget the more higher hd upgrade mod coming soon

And more skins weapons

And beable build furniture and also manors and buildings so people can come in when they join your server

God so i think ill settle on pc version dam.
