I don't have a 360, but I plan on buying one eventually :), but most of my friends do, and the ones who are very nerdy towards games always talk about these "Achievements" they unlock. I do know that these are basically unlockables that you get after completing a certain task, level, kill amount, and so on. So being the perfectionist I am when it comes to video gamin', I would imagine that for every game I get on 360, I would want to get every achievement possible. But is it possible? For instance, if an online centric game loses it's popularity and I just bough the game and wanted to get an achievement for a certain high amount of kills, and no one played it anymore, would buying the game be a waste? Should I stay away from dated or unpopular online games when I get a 360? Knowing this would help me out. Thanks :)

why would you stay away from games just because they're dated / no one plays them? whats the point? why not just borrow games if all you care about are the achievements...

One thing i'd say before you get your 360, don't buy/play games for the achievements, as almost every game you play on it won't be fun and will just feel like a task.

You... you seriously care about Achievements so much that you would pass a game if you couldn't get them all? ...

Achievements don't mean anything at all. Just because someone has a better gamerscore than some one else, does not mean that they are a better player.

Agreed. They're a cool little add on, but the people who buy games based on achievements instead of fun are stupid at best IMO.

I don't play for achievements. If I get them, that's cool. If they're fun to get, then I try for them. That being said, no one has the right to judge others for how they play their video games and/or enjoy this hobby. No one. If someone wants to only play for achievements and they get a kick out of it, that is perfectly within their right as a free willed, free thinking human being. Anyone who is going to call someone else stupid at best for doing so is basically condemning someone else for doing what they enjoy. To those who are so critical of others regarding this topic, you need to chill out and lighten up. Let people enjoy their games HOW they want to enjoy them. ;)

If that's how you won't be able to stand not getting all the acheivements, then yes dated multiplayer games are probably not a good idea for you. If you really a multiplayer game with online acheivements then Left 4 Dead could be a start. Also if you want a multiplayer game without having to worry about acheivements then Call of Duty 4 is great since it has no online acheivements. Enjoy!
