How well can you game without having Xbox Live

Well im in a situation that i will not have xbox live for a long time, living situation that won't allow it. Sucks cause i have an elite. Anyhow, i have had live for over 5 years and gaming is not the same period, lack of DL and not being able to compete online. So i have been trying to beat Halo 3 on legenary, very hard hard. but anyone else have this problem and if so what do you do?

Just play SP games.. Get a few RPGs or games with local multiplayer/co-op.

you can game quite well but you are missing out but thats true for all the systems except the wii maybe.

without live i would shoot myself in the foot.

Even with online, I typically beat single player before going online to prepare myself for whats to come

I prefer not having live, but when I did have live I think I didnt win mayb 2 Jams in skate 2, I rock at that game!

Play single player myself mostly..Use online stuff for movies..Maybe dlc an also perhaps patches...Hate gaming online cept for gears..Borderlands comes out ill be doing that live though...

i dont need xbox live to have a good time on my 360.

I mostly play alone despite staying online on XBL. I'm on there mostly for chatting with my friends. That may change when Borderlands come out.

RPG's are winners when you lack online play, but I still play a bunch of FPS's offline single player and co-op whenever I don't have the money to pay for Live.

Single player = boring when you're not connected to Live. I like to talk in a party with my work mates whilst playing single player games. Also, multiplayer > single player any day.

So not very well for me.

I have more fun offline.

Like some other people said, just play single player campaign. There are a lot of great games that have awesome single player campaigns.

try renting games instead of buying... i think u can rent games online from gamespot? not 100% sure but i kno theres a few websites u can.

that way u can play a bunch of different campaigns instead of replaying and getting achievements or wateva if u had LIVE

Same here, and other than Street Fighter 4 I haven't been playing online... I'm waitin for L4D2 to come out and make my eyes bleed in front of the TV :P

I think life without CoD4 and UFC undisputed online would be a much sadder gaming experience... Live is essential nowadays

HAHA. i've been living without LIVE since the day i got my 360. I have only one cable connection in my house and it's in an area with no tv at all and no space for one either.

(I have gotten LIVE before though when i borrowed a wireless adapter.)

My friend I know from another game as XBL, so we talk all the time. I was down for 3 months with no Xbox due to RRoD. I finally got to the point where I ordered a new fan for it, and opened up the Xbox to check it.

But anyways, I don't think I can go another DAY without XBL. D:

I think a large percentage of us probably remember(albeit vaguely) what it was like before the advent of the popularity of online gaming. I've loved games since a kid, and the only thing XboxLive did was make me love games even more. So you're gonna be missing out a bit, but there's no reason you cant enjoy yourself. Sports games and RPG's provide similar amounts of replay value that an online FPS game would. Racing games are always a good bet, too.
