I massage it with baby oil and whisper sweet nothings into it's USB port, so as you can see, I take pretty good care of it.kevbo77

I take very good care of my 360. I keep it cool, clean and treat it with gentle hands. Its my brother and his friends who worry me. They are a bunch of little retards who don't give a crud if they break or scratch it as long as they have a good time doing it. I have to let him use the 360 because its half his. My 360s currently under repair and I miss it.
on a table with loads of room... lying horizontal with a bottle cap at each corner to lift it up of the tableNSR34GTR
. . . Bottle caps, huh? That would help it breathe better, wouldn't it? I keep mine horizontal and free of dust as well. I've had it since Dec. 2005 (frantically knocking wood) I also have it set to turn off after 6 hours of inactivity in case I forget to shut it down.
Dust it off... thats the farthest i go and will go. 2007 model
It needs no extra treatment then anything in my house
My last thread about how long people's Xboxes lasted made me think about why results vary so much. How do you setup your 360 and/or maintain it if at all? I don't do much: i have it standing up, blow dust out of it every week or so, give it about a foot of space behind the fan so it doesn't overheat, avoid moving it much (never when its on) and always use the controllers to switch on/off (just a habit). Mine has lasted around 9 months so far, so I'm happy.magic_dragonI purchased mine in early 2008, i let it run for sometimes weeks on end. i always keep it off a rug or on something hard like the tv stand. i travel for work and it usually comes with. Ive never blown the dust out of it, ever. and 6 months ago i bought a "intercooler" for it cause it froze a few times on me. has not done it since. IMIHO the thing should be long dead based on things ive heard about other peoples. but ??
Well ours is over 3 years old and gets worked pretty hard. I'm on it in the mornings, the boys are on it in the afternoon when they're back from school. Then evenings its usually the hubby or me again...Its current state is heart braking though, its literally sitting without its case on! Open tray, unable to read disc and a stuck tray - will only open if there is a cd in - is common everyday errors. I don't think it will last much longer. Luckily we have a back-up x-box standing ready!
i like to say i take good care of mine. i dont dust it off, but thats only because it has no dust or dirt on it.
i have it sitting vertical, in a 360 gaming tower. even though its in the tower, its got plenty of breathing room. and im not worried about it either. its been in the tower for 2+ years and nothing has slowed down or anything. i actually kinda think the tower keeps the dust off of it, my reasoning is my PS3 which is sitting in my room exposed gets dusted about once a week, whereas my 360 which is in the tower never has dust on it.
i get nervous when my sibling use it. my older sister doesnt care and will leave it on while she does other things. i have to force her to go save and turn it off, which causes alot of fights but w/e, i aint losing my 360. then my younger sister does the same except she has a bad habit of throwing controllers. I actually bannished her from using my Fable III controller:P she pissed me off, she got mad because the game was "cheating" so she threw it across the room. i about flipped a S***. now she is never allowed to use my Fable III controller ever again.
i got my 360 in early 2006 and have had no problems. :D
oh funny story, i actually had an RROD. i was devastated when i saw it. was like, great now what? so then later that day, for some reason, i decided to check the cords. i unplugged the AV cords and plugged them back in. then as i went to unplug the power cord, when i touched it, i heard a "click". apparently when i moved my 360 earlier, i didnt get the cord plugged in all the way. not sure how that happened. so after the click i decided to try to turn it on. hit the power button and lo and behold its working just fine, no RROD. i was so relieved and i believe i actually jumped with joy:P
I just keep mine with plenty of space around it so it doesn't over hear. I dust it off when I'm doing general around the house cleaning.
I should probably buy some compressed air soon and clean it out.
I try hard. It just keeps getting dust on it. But i do have it horizontal and brush off the dust every day really.
I look after my Xbox 360 very well. My first one was a launch console, But it died on me. So I got the last batch of the original models of Xbox 360 (with the jasper chipset) It hasn't died on me.
So after the first xbox 360 RROD on me. I waited until a better version was out. I always maintain my consoles well. So this Xbox 360 is still working well.
I used to really take care of it back in 2008 when I first got it. I would wipe the dust and make sure the area around it was clean.
Nowadays I just let it sit there. lol I'll wipe the dust from the top from time to time. Going for 3 years now. If it dies it had a good run. lol
i keep my games in their cases, if their not in the system their in case
that said i dont really need to take care of the system, i dust it if it looks like it needs it
i used to punch my 360 on occasion, needless to say i dont have that xbox anymore and i havent done that in awhile, not because i "learned my leson" having to buy a new one but more because i just learned to controll my anger better
