His xbox 360 is freezing all the time. It's been a gradual increase over the last 4 months or so. The xbox is in a well ventilated area, but there seems to be a decent ammount of dust build up. Forza was the first game to freeze with a dirty disc error and gradually as time past Halo 3 joined followed by NHL08 and Saints Row. With GTA4 coming out he wants these problems solved. So how effective do you think this will be. I was gonna suggest he get a CD lense cleaner and an air duster to hopefully clear out the dust. Has anyone solved xbox freezing issues doing this?

Your 2 ideas are great and pretty much the only options at this point. i know I'm anal but I actually cover my 360 up whenever I'm not playing it to keep the dust off - and of course always put the games back in their cases when they aren't being played.

I would say try the lens cleaner. I was having a problem were every game I put in would come up saying unplayable disk, but I was able to watch some movies and play CDs in it. I used a lens cleaner and it fixed it. The air duster may blow the dust out, but it could blow it farther into the system as well so I don't know about that.

Leaving a disk in the system can ruin the disk. I have had it happen, luckily it was only a few days after I bought it, and it left marks on it from sitting in the system.
