Show's how stupid you are. It wasn't that the 360 couldn't handle it as Kojma himself said the 360 could run it. It was just the size of the game. 360 uses dvd 9's. It would take like 7 of them. No one wants that. Kojima did say he may port a whole new MGS collection that will include MGS4 on Xbox One. So it has nothing to do with the system it's self handling it. Just disc space. So go read and study again before you spew dumb ignorant trash.

Think it has more to do with the "inside jokes". They would have to remove a whole boss fight as it cuts into the ps1, and shows images of sony products all over the place. A lot of the game references the ps1(literally) and would need ot be removed.[QUOTE="Scarface720"]Makes no sense to me?andrew01093

Metal Gear Solid 4 was programmed for a superior ps3 system in 2008. When it comes to optimizing the engine, the 360 could handle it fine, but the honest truth that any of you could have researched (talking to the original poster and the ridiculers) is that the game used far more pre-processed cut scenes than the paltry DVD format of the 360 could handle.
Â
MGS 4 would run fine on the 360, it's just incredibly impractical.

A lot of the game references the ps1(literally) and would need ot be removed. TBH that simply doesn't sit well with me as a real excuse. We know that for the PS3/360 and Vita they bought in the original voice actors to record dialogue that specifically referenced the new control schemes. They even had trophies that made use of the new system features (the zoom in on the Vita screen). I find it hard to believe that the jokes couldn't be changed to be self-referential on another level or fun in some other way.None of the cutscenes in that game (from what I can tell) are pre-rendered. The culprit appears to be that the game is using massively consuming uncompressed sound...something with a majority of people would not miss if it was replaced with something that was compressed sensibly.Metal Gear Solid 4 was programmed for a superior ps3 system in 2008. It will run it badly, multiple dvd's and low framerate. I dont know why anyone would get it for current gen instead of PS4.
Wrong board to suggest someone get something on the ps4 when it's going to be on the xbox one. :? http://www.gamespot.com/news/metal-gear-solid-v-confirmed-for-xbox-one-6409539It will run it badly, multiple dvd's and low framerate. I dont know why anyone would get it for current gen instead of PS4.

If Metal Gear Solid 5 is anything like Metal Gear Solid 4, then taking up more then one DVD (or even half for that matter) is possibly the dumbest thing I ever head, Metal Gear Solid 4 had only four hours of Gameplay, i'm sure that there will be a new engine for Metal Gear Solid 5 that will be able to run fine on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 so the game won't even nearly fill up one DVD.
4 hours of gameplay.... what? complete fallacy.

There is nothing on PS3 that couldn't be ported to 360.
If anything, there are some games on 360 that run like doo doo on a PS3.
Skyrim, Fallout3, Fallout NV.
that would be because bethesda is an absolutely horrible, lazy dev. every single game that they have released in the last 15 years has had to have been fixed by the community before it could be considered a "smooth experience"....There is nothing on PS3 that couldn't be ported to 360.

It had less to do with the cut scenes, which would have taken up a lot of space, and more to do with the fact that they used the FLAC lossless audio format which is absolutely massive. For an Xbox version they could easily have simply used a more compressed audio format and it would probably get down to two discs, one for installation and one to play on. It's cool that they used FLAC because they had the space but in reality very few people would be able to hear the difference between it and other formats without a pretty robust audio setup. To the TC, go back and look at MGS4 now and it's heavily apparent that the graphics are already somewhat dated. It's funny because I remember at the time being AMAZED by them.Metal Gear Solid 4 was programmed for a superior ps3 system in 2008.
