Disappointing is the word that comes to mind, and here's my reasons why.

THE BAD:

Nothing from 343i or the Coalition, i'm not a fan of Halo or Gears but to have nothing from them is stupid on MS part, something is better than nothing, and only one new game (correct me if i'm wrong) announcement from a first party dev (Ori 2) most of us knew Forza 7 was coming.

Terry Crews bit in Crackdown 3 totally killed the buzz for me, hopefully he's not in every cut scene screaming dumb shit down the camera, he's annoying, and I won't buy it if he is.

The name is stupid, they should have left the Scorpio name, as for the price $650 AUD I fully expected it to be around there, that's of no concern for me.

Mostly ID@XBOX games, nothing wrong with these games, but shows MS lack of investment in it's first party.

Way too much 4k this, 4k that, too many buzz words like "console launch exclusive"

No exclusive Scorpio controller.

THE GOOD:

Forza 7 & BC with original Xbox games.

Share you thoughts my fellow Xbox gamers.

EDIT: just saw this on the front page, so it's good to see that 343i are working on a game even if it is the next Halo.

Heh I happen to like Terry Crews he's funny but as to whether his role will be good we'll se. I don't know if he has voice acting talent. At best I'd call it an average conference maybe a b- or c+. Out of all the games Shadow of War, Ori and maybe Anthem appealed to me...oh and Code Vein. I think some of the indie games looked fun. If I can save up I'd buy a One X, though I'm not sure I should my tv is not 4k or hdr capable si would I benefit at best I see myself having a pretty stable console. I likely won't be picking up an xbox any time soon if I do decide to buy one lime maybe way later next year

I thought it was a solid conference... I'm definitely getting an X. I'm fine with the price, just wishing it was launching earlier than November.

In terms of games, whilst 1st party AAA was lacking, there were a few standouts from the conference that got me excited. Ori 2 being the main one... but also Forza 7 (of course), Metro Exodus, The Last Night, AC Origins, Life is Strange, Super Lucky's Tale etc.

Crackdown also looked cool, but would've liked to see actual gameplay.

I have nothing against Crews but that spot looked incredibly cheap/tacky, and what happened to this game being made by the devs of the first game? All I say was Sumo Digital as the dev, very strange.

I don't have a 4k tv either. I have $1,300 saved up now and by November it will be over $2,000 plus I will have my tax money, but I might just go on a holiday, then spend close to $3,000 on a new TV + Scorpio combo.

The tipping point for me will be when I see some more of Forza 7.

Yeah I loved the first Modor game and will buy the second game just not sure on which Xbox.

As for Ori I have the first game, but will never play it as it's not my type of game, and Anthem looks just like Destiny and they can keep that shit lol.

Code Vein looks interesting, one I will keep an eye on. As for the indies not one peaked my interest, I actually took time to take a pee when the montage on those games were shown.

Hardware looked promising, but there weren't as many "wow" games as I had hoped for. C+...maybe B- in my book.

I thought it was good. I'm not so much a fan of X being so much about 4k though. Still believe that 2k is plenty for games and use all the extra horsepower for framerate, effects, art, etc, instead. 90% of Hollywood films being made today aren't even native 4k. Most of them are filmed with digital cameras and are mastered in 2k. Yeah, there's a 4k blu ray format now but whether ya knew it or not most of the films available for it are 2k upscaled to 4k. There are 4k native blu ray films but they are the minority. If Hollywood thinks 2k is good enough for movies on theater screens, and apparently so do moviegoers cuz I haven't heard about any outcry, then why do we need native 4k games on our tvs? Just seems like a waste of the horsepower to me.

I think there was a bit of actual gameplay for C3, the part where he picked up a car and was about to throw it, and a few other tid bits, but not to much was shown.

I know you would have been stoked for Ori 2, hopefully it releases next year for you.

MS should have given the greenlight for the Coalition & 343i to make a new IP each considering there was no news about Halo or Gears, to me it's crazy that at the biggest event for the industry each year, that 2 of their biggest first party devs are doing what seems like nothing.

They spent X amount on R & D for the Scorpio and yet can't spend money on 2 of it's biggest first party devs, to make games for it, to me that sounds crazy.

I'm happy I will be getting my GOTY in Forza 7, but MS needs to do more. Spencer needs to do more.

I give them a solid B. Lots and lots of games, very diverse. Not every game was my style but sure is plenty to play.

Start of decay 2 is shaping up to be the Walking Dead experience I have been waiting for.

Terry Crews cracks me up. Wanted to see more and pretty sure they were running short on time.

Really wanted a big new IP. Also was hoping for a max price of $449.

Also what about 343 showing a little something? What is Sega and MS partners on?

None the less we do know everything will run best on X.

They teamed up with some great devs like bioware and Metro.

Not really into Indies but a few really grabbed me.

Pretty underwhelming. Microsoft desperately needs games and there just wasn't much there to get me excited. Hell, at the very least I expected them to show Crackdown 3, give us some proof that it's a real thing and that the delay was fully justified as they show off some of the campaign. There was nothing there that made me want to get back on board with Xbox. And the more I think about it, the more it bums me out, because I really wanted a reason to get the Xbox One X.

I was hoping to hear about Nier Automata being on Xbox. Just once. Is Phil Spencer or any of the Xbox staff upset about it?

But Phil has been in charge for 3yrs, and with the new console MS should of had brand new first party IP's or at the very least sequels to show on it, even if they weren't going to release on the same day as the Scorpio, just something to look forward to next year, sure there's State of Decay 2 and Sea of Thieves but they are games that got pushed back from 2017.

I'm an Xbox guy, but Phil needs to show more, now I don't know if he's hands are tied by corporate suits, but he needs to produce more or step down.

I like Phil (I've never said anything about this before) but it really annoyed me when he announced his favourite game from the original Xbox (Voodoo Vince) was getting remastered, why should he get to choose his favourite game, he should look after the Xbox players first and foremost.

I hope that MS announce a few new games at gamescon later in the year as they need to hit back at Sony hard and the only way to do that is with games, games & more games.

1stly i love Terry Crews that guy just makes me laugh. so i dunno if i'll buy that cause of him to be fair. but i've never played the first 2 games either, in fact i had never even heard of them before. in case if you are wondering if i've been living under a rock the answer is no, I'm a bigger fan of Playstation than i am of X Box and i only 1st played the 360 when i bought one used for $50 bucks last year. i fell in love with that and it got me to watch Microsoft's show last year which was great this one was i think a lot better. i do have bad things to say about it as well. 1stly i agree too much talk about the 4K which i get is one of the reasons why they made the system.

i get that but still far to much talk about it. Not Enough talk from Phil compared to last year when he stood on stage most of the time and talked. not complaining about them showing 42 games i loved that. not complaining them having so many Exclusives as they need that too. there were far too many of the games that just didn't interest me but a select few did at least so that's still better than none. some of the games i think should have had game play to show what the hell they were and some of them didn't have enough of it. Sea of Thieves isn't a game that interests me but to each their own who is going to buy that one.

as for the console price? i really really HATE IT. it's far far too much for it i think and it should have been at least $100 bucks cheaper at least. yeah i know it's more powerful than the PS4 i'm not going to argue with you on that. but with the way people who don't have the kind of money they did 10 years ago it's far far too much.

i wonder if the fans will complain about it like they did when the original X bone came out? do i plan on getting one? I've thought about it and before i watched it my mind was torn between the X and the S and has been for the past year actually. i held off buying the S last year because 2 reasons 1 i had just bought the PS4 last May.

and i love it. so it was far far far too soon to get another console. but after watching that show i will prolly end up getting one and i've already started saving up for it. so far i've got $230 bucks put aside for it. and i've got time before it comes out so i can add a little here and a little there each paycheck.

@wildhoney66: The price is the least of the problems. Was there a gold rush or something 10yrs ago that I missed? because I have way more money today then I did 10yrs ago.

i was thinking along the lines of parents buying these consoles for their kids or people who don't have the money for them. i dunno how old you are but if i was a kid my folks would NOT spend the kind of money for an One X no matter how much i wanted it. me and my brother got a Wii for x-mas a few years back but it was i think $130 bucks and i think that was maybe the most they ever spent on a system for me. of the various systems i have most of them i've bought myself.

but my folks when i was a kid didn't make that much money so they could not afford the systems if they wanted to. i mean if my niece and Nephew wanted one they aren't going to buy one for them either. i think it depends on the person cause more people had jobs 10 years ago than they do now. for example it drives me nuts when i see people buy booze or smokes or consoles when they can't afford them. why? because they should spend it on stuff they need to live on instead of stuff like smokes or booze. not everyone lives that way thank god. on how poor a friend of mine i worked with was. they had no money their house really had no furniture at all but they had a huge ass tv. which they later sold to pay some bills but he could afford money for dope. go figure ya know?

this was when he was in his teens and in the early 2000's. so i dunno about now but back that's how he was living. i'm just saying that the price should be lower so the people who don't make much money or their folks depending on how old they are. they than can afford to buy one and they'd i think sell more One X's if it was cheaper. but i don't work for them so i have no control on how much the thing is going to be.

I didnt realize it was possible to dislike Terry Crews, ouch. I highly highly doubt he'll even be in the game, it was clearly a PR commercial thing.

But overall, id say it was a solid 8/10. I wouldnt be able to rate them any higher unless they announced Scalebound/Fable 4. It was a 7, but then original Xbox BC was announced, which i didnt expect at all. Goddamn. Also the X.B.O.X looks fine, and we expected the 500 dollar price tag. Anyone saying otherwise is probably lying, as everyone was so sure it would be 600-700.

And of course all the games were fucking great. They had a fair amount of exclusives and they showed off some amazing Multiplats.

That reminds me of Phil's trip to Japan recently, so after his visit all he has to show for it is a DBZ multiplat fighting game, I was kinda hoping that he really went there to get Mistwalker to start making Lost Odyssey 2, that was a big let down for me.

I was expecting the BC with original games announcement, but to be fair I expected it at last years E3.

I'm trying hard not to be such a downer, but how can you say all the games shown were great?

As for Terry, it must be an American taste thing, I don't hate the guy or anything he's just annoying imo.

okay after thinking about what i said i didn't word that very well sorry about that, yes i know adults are a big sale when it comes to the x-box community but a lot of 35 year olds do have family's and some of them just have a hard time just getting by what they make at whatever job they work it since shit is so expensive these days, with bills with the cost of living and if you have kids and are divorced alimony and stuff like that. i don't have kids and i'm over 35 and i don't have things like that to worry about. but i do miss the days when Systems being sold were far far cheaper. and they were great consoles too. at least the ones i bought anyways i think were. though i may buy the x this year cause i can also collect games from all 3 consoles i do have a 360 actually.

a lot the times i normally wait until the consoles get cheaper but that is an awfully long wait cause they take forever to go down in price. for example i got my Wii in (2011) and i wanted it cause well Zelda as i've been a fan of that game since i think (1989) when i 1st played the Original game and it's my favorite game of all time. i don't remember what that cost back than but it even than felt a lot to me, the NES i mean. as for the Demographic it's funny the way that is these days, as a kid in the 80's it was aimed towards kids and even into the 90's. i never had a Genesis or Atari it was Nintendo. than in the late 90's into the early 2000's it was aimed still towards kids and than the age changed to Teens as well when playstation came along and they put out games aimed towards teenagers and not just kids. yes teens are kids too but teens like 15 or 16 years old like Resident Evil for example isn't really a kids game though kids can play that one.

in the past decade or so it was by than aimed at people in their 20's mostly, the older i get i'm 38 at the moment it's aimed at 25-35 i think they said was the biggest fans they go for. not really Nintendo but X Box and Playstation. but they still put games out for kids as they should. the ratings system i can say was a great idea for parents who choose to look at it to say yes or not when it comes to their kids playing certain games. depending on their age of course, since the age bracket has changed so much in the past 10-15 years one wonders what it will be in another decade? since there's still people out there into their 40's and 50's who love gaming and who have loved it since the 2600 days. however the downside is the prices on these consoles the prices are getting higher and higher and it drives me nuts when i was talking a young guy at work and he thinks $400 bucks is cheap, i asked do you pay for the system? he's i think 22 or 23 and he still lives at home, he's also handicapped to a certain degree and is a big gamer as well. so he still lives at home with his folks and he goes no his folks buy him one.

that's him not knowing the value of a dollar i think. what worries me is that 10 years from now these consoles if we still even have them will cost $1,000 to buy and that's still to high for a console. $500 is half-way there as it is. what's funny is that the Jaguar which i think cost more back in the day was a flop cause of that, plus i hear it was an awful underpower system as well. i knew no one who had one i dunno if you did. but i am curious if fans will start bitching about the price since they did say this was the price when the X Bone came out. i wonder if that will hurt the sales ? Phil Spencer is a smart guy he actually i think listens to his fans as as much as i love Sony they need to do that more than they do. i guess time will tell, sorry about the rambling on this i was just trying to explain this a bit better i dunno if it came out the way i wanted it to or not. but i hope it did. as for the show yesterday really only like i think 5 or 6 of the 42 games caught my attention. i wonder if it will be more at Sony's tonight?

How many games do you guys need. I don't work and I'm behind already, haven't even finished Prey and Morrowind just showed up! I know I also have several games I have only played once or haven't even finished.

Thought the conference was a step in the right direction, but failed to justify and/or build value with the 500$ Xbox1X price. Best games i thought were Anthem and Assassian's Creed Origins, which are third party. Metro looked awesome, but i'm not a fan of FPS. Highlights to me were Ori 2, and original Xbox BC. Surprised Sea of Thieves and state of Decay isn't being released in 2017. A lot of PC and Indie games, that were exclusive to Xbox, but again a X1 isn't needed to play those. I did like how they focused on exclusive content, for the most part. No major first party titles coming with the X1 is surprising with the new hardware (other than Forza). I think they would have benefited with some teases of new GOW/Halo content being worked on, and/or New IPs from microsoft. If i had to grade, i'd give it a B-.

It was below average for sure, maybe a 3 out of 10? Maybe a 4? They really just showed a bunch of trailers from other companies and didn't seem to offer much themselves. How they bring a new console onto the market with no game (besides yet another Forza) to really show what it can do is beyond me. There just wasn't enough Microsoft in this Microsoft presentation.

Why does it have to be a MS game only to show what the 1X is capable of? I play more games from other companies and the 1X will play all those games better. Nothing wrong will Forza it's my favorite racing game, already pre-ordered.

I'm not sure what # rating I'd give it. I would say it was GOOD...but I can't say it was GREAT. It was entertaining, I will buy some of the games they showed. OG Xbox BC was awesome and unexpected. I thought the recent talk about that was just rumors or wishful thinking by people, I just didn't think it's something they would do. Glad Cuphead finally is coming out in just a few weeks, I've been waiting for that since E3 2015. Crackdown 3 could be cool, I need to see more. People playing it at the show are saying it's way better than the footage they showed last night.

My laptop can't handle 4k streaming so I had to downgrade my stream to 1440p and then to 1080p, but stuff like Forza and Metro and AC, and Shadow of War were looking great. I feel like there were too many indies/games with non-photorealistic graphics, and they could've done with some more pushing it, graphics-wise games to help push the whole 4k sell...but I know we'll see more over time.

I did think there was gonna be at least 1-2 1st party AAA games beyond the likes of Crackdown and Forza (which I'm not into), possibly new IPs, the way people have been saying they're lacking with those, and the way Spencer's been talking up their E3 showing. But since there was none I was a little surprised. I was also still hopeful for 399 right till the end when he said 499.

Thought they might bundle with the Elite controller, a game, or a controller that didn't look exactly the same as my 2013 Day one? Some cool X1X emblem, something...

Bottomline I was always going to get an X1X as long as it was under 500, and I like the name, it's fine...I have a 4k TV and no 4k gaming machine or blu ray player so I've been waiting for this. I think we'll see some nice upgrades on stuff like Witcher 3, and we will over these next 2-3 years get some amazing looking 1st parties, to go along with the best console 3rd parties.

@wildhoney66: You're looking at this from your personal experience which is fine, but it doesn't mean it's relatable to the rest of the world.

I live in Australia and when I bought my Sega Saturn back in the 90's it cost me $500, fast forward a decade and the Xbox 360 cost me $550 so yes a bit more expensive, but the real difference is the price of games. Every game I bought for my Sega Saturn was $100 which was the normal price for games here, even Sega Megadrive (Genesis) games were $100, but with the 360 games started to get cheaper.

Even now games here are cheaper, I just bought Dirt 4 for $69 and that's cheap over here.

I give it an 8 a solid B.

FYI they just announced the Halo Wars 2 expansion 'Awakening the Nightmare' which is a Banished campaign where you fight against the Flood.

That means both the Banished and Flood will be in Halo 6 almost definitely.

As far as the conference goes, I was actually very satisfied. Not really sure what people are griping about they showed a bunch of games I'm interested in playing. I dont care if they arent exclusives since they are mostly PC games and I dont game on PC, not to mention Xbox now still has the best multiplats by far for the rest of the gen. All the games they announced are all native 4K too.

My list of games I'm excited for:

Ashen

Forza 7*

Crackdown 3*

Ori 2

Lucky

Player Unknown Battlegrounds*

Deep Rock Galactic

Darwin Project

Last Night

Cuphead*

Tacoma*

Battlerite

Osiris New Dawn*

Conan Exiles*

Path of the Exiles*

Black Desert

Dark & Light

Aven Colony*

Dead by Daylight*

A lot of these games are either arena games, MMOs or survival games all genres I enjoy a lot. I was really happy to see a bunch of these games since they are PC games that I havent been able to play but wanted to.

Half of these will be out this year*. Thats not even counting all the AAA multiplats that will be the best version on Xbox or a bunch of other ID@Xbox indies some of which are pretty good quality too.

What all the cows on SW dont realize is that this list was just the beginning too. Theres about to be a flood of games coming to Xbox because of it being easier to develop for. So while its a bit disappointing they didnt have any totally new IPs, I understand why they didnt since they still have previously announced IPs that arent out yet and they are treading carefully for the launch of the new console. They really probably want to avoid another Scalebound at all costs.

Sony fans are talking crap now but wait til all the big multiplats start rolling out and the Xbox versions totally outclass the PS4 versions. The Xbox One X 4K launch lineup is already way bigger than the Pro's 4K library and its been out for a year.

To me its easy for people to overlook the difference in these games on the forum but if you see these games IRL in 4K compared to 1080 its seriously a big noticable difference, not only resolution wise but the Xbox One X has better framerates too. It way more than the 720 vs 1080 that cows bashed Xbox on all gen.

Yeah well said.

And totally agree about the 4k difference... I was watching the conference in 4k, and it looked amazing.

And whilst MS is still lacking in the 1st party AAA department, they revealed plenty to get me excited.

I thought it was good overall, they showed a lot of interesting games, introduced an amazing new console and a new feature(Xbox originals backwards compatibility....here's hoping for Ninja Gaiden Black compatibility, you never know.)

Had it not been for the Scorpio reveal, I might have felt it was light.....it might have needed 1 more high-profile game, something new maybe....but overall I was satisfied. I had tampered my expectations because I knew a lot of their efforts were focused on a strong Scorpio reveal. This is a new console phase we are going through, they are working on 4K stuff for existing games and announced free patches for games like Forza Horizon 3 & Killer Instinct. The way I see it their efforts were a little spread out and maybe that is why they showed a few less games than usual.

They might have a lot more new games in the pipeline that are just not ready to show yet, and they said that about the next Halo title, it just wasn't ready to reveal yet. I'm definitely excited for the XOneX, and I still have a lot of playtime on Gears4 and Halo 5 so I don't mind they skipped a year for those. Bottom line is I have tons of games to play for 2017 and I'm buying many of the ones shown yesterday. Maybe they are more reluctant to show off games that are too far off release, to avoid Scalebound-type scenarios, I don't know.....but there are lots of games that I saw yesterday that interested me, so I'm happy overall.

I felt they were light on, and for me I just don't play many indie games, so that was just filler for me. They need to let their studios create new IP's between it's big games. I mean 343i/Coalition/Turn 10 should be allowed to take a risk from time to time. Even the guys behind Ori & SoD are making sequels to their games, only good thing is that Rare are working on the only new IP.

Now I don't want MS to do a Sony and announce games with nothing to show with it, and games that are 3+ years away.

For 2yrs now they have someone from Mohjang announce updates for Minecraft, maybe it's time to announce Minecraft 2 and make it cross play with all consoles & PC, except the PS4 and state that the reasons that it's not coming to PS4 is because Sony won't allow cross play it would have brought a lot of backlash towards Sony.

I will probably buy a Scorpio because I feel like it will be a Forza Horizon 2 situation over again. What I mean by that is the XB1 version of F7 won't be nowhere near as good as the Scorpio version. FH2 was missing a lot of things on the 360 compared to the XB1 version, and I see it happening again with F7.

I'm glad you guys saw a lot that has you excited to play, but for me it was a letdown, especially the trip Phil took to Japan recently which by all appearances has yielded little to nothing.

Yes I edited my first post and put in that MS is working on Halo 6, it's good for Halo fans but that's it.

So for me I saw one game i'm buying (F7) and 2 I might buy (Crackdown & SoT) that's it sadly :(

Ok just saw this and I will be getting day one, it kinda makes up for Scalebound, hopefully we see some more Japanese titles on the XB1/Scorpio :)

I'm starting to feel a little better now lol.

The reason from what I read is that MS didn't like people calling the Xbox One .. ... Xbone. So they have to keep the One so why not add an X to it. X... B.... O. .. X

Because Xbox One X is a stupid name and still carries a certain stigma, I know this is going to sound stupid, but bear with me.

A guy I work with has got a PS4, now he bought it only a year ago, now he was going to buy an XB1 because he loves Halo, but a friend told him it needs to connected to the net at all times. Now we both know this is BS, but he is a casual gamer who doesn't go to websites like us (most casuals don't) so he can only go on what his friend told him, this is a common thing for casual gamers.

Now MS needed to shred the name one from the console, because the casuals would have seen this as a fresh start from MS and not go off of information from 2013.

I'm still going to call it a Scorpio.

Great stuff but sort of a dull delivery. I'll go with a score of 8/10.

@i_p_daily: I really wouldn't worry dude. If you like Monster Hunter try Dark & Light or Black Desert when they come out.

Also Phil said at the conference that they actually do have a few IPs in the works that they just haven't talked about. Like I said they are concentrating on getting the ones we know about out after the Scalebound thing. That was a major PR disaster for them.

Don't forget they still have the non racing new IP Turn 10 started working on they just haven't announced anything on it yet.

The key to this E3 for MS was diversity in games too. MS takes that Forza/Halo/Gears criticism really seriously and they want to show they have other stuff. I personally think they need to stop listening to people that aren't fans of those games but it probably matters on the business side.

I'm actually glad they are pushing Sea of Thieves and SoD2 to next year. Sea of Thieves is good but it needs more content and they need to take all the time they need.

All they really need to do is use Sony's playbook and use multiplats in the beginning to get the new console established and take the time to polish the new IPs up. MS games have to basically be one point better than Sony games because of reviewer bias this gen. So they need to make 9 games to get 8s.

The new IP is not from Turn 10, but from Playground Games, and they are not a first party dev, MS hires them to do the Horizon games, and there is now 2 studios within Playground.

They are creating a new IP that's supposed to be open world, but we don't know if it will be an exclusive to MS or a multiplat.

E3 was a letdown for me.Disappointed to see no Halo 6 and no major new IP.State of Decay 2 was nice to see,but disappointed to not see SoD 2 in 2017.No Left 4 Dead 3 news a downer,in fact I was sure we were going to see that at E3 17,it's long overdue.I did find E3 was a letdown this year,it's far better than E3 16,which was a bore festival.Hoping Halo 6 info comes later this year?

Great overall. The X reveal was quick and concise and the backwards compatibility reveal was great to hear. And I'm glad they didn't fall back on obvious feanchis s like Halo and Gears for once.

All of E3 was a bit of a let down and I can definitely say that Nintendo had the best platform show.

For MS, I wouldn't give them a grade per-say but I'd say they failed to provide anyone a strong reason to invest into their brand or new console.

For people who already own a xbox, if they love the Forza games then there's that and the company has a strong line up of multiplatform games to look forward to along with Crackdown releasing this year isn't "bad" news, it's just not something to jump up and down about IMO.

The biggest takeaway for me is if you DON'T own an xbox there is little to any reason to be hyped or give any second thought investing in the brand. There's 4k (PC and PS4 Pro do that) and multiplats (which both PC and PS4/pro offer more of) and the select exclusives which people have been waiting on MS to show; but MS didn't show any games (outside of Ori2) that anyone didn't already know were coming out.

I will say that Sony kind of did the same thing with their show, only giving us new gameplay of most exclusive games we already knew were coming but then again Sony has so many more games and high profile AAA caliber game at that that they really didn't need to do anything more to look superior when compared to MS when the only AAA looking game MS showed was another Forza.

Lastly the whole announcement about 22 exclusives from Spencer getting people hype and then showing the "console launch exclusive" before every title was pretty bad.

I think all of the press conferences were underwhelming. Was hoping to get a halo tease. MS did show a lot of games, but only a few that I was actually interested in.

in a you tube video i saw, he says that x box is getting a LOT of hate as of late. i dunno where he's getting his info but i haven't seen anyplace online people hating on the console. i just hate the price that's it. $69 bucks is still to high a price for games but i can see that being a better price than they used to be for you. there's only certain games out here in the states that are that high. normally the extra super deluxe or whatever the hell they are called? have you folks seen any kind of hate? offline or online? i sure as hell haven't.

Go over to System Wars, there's a shit ton of hate for the Scorpio, so many threads being made by all the Sony fanboys.

I'd love to buy games at $69, most games over here are $80 and upwards.

I'm kinda late to this thread but hey, better late then never right?

E3 2017 as a whole is what I expected from last year, just average at best. MS press conference wasn't as bad. They show off 3rd party games, few 1st party games and I think Xbox One X looks okay for what it's worth, I just think MS could at least called it: "Xbox: Scorpio" or "Xbox One: Scorpio" but adding an X to it wasn't what I had in mind. What really sold me in there conference was Anthem! I love what I saw, gameplay looks solid and it's a day one purchase on PC! Despite I have no intention to buy Xbox One X since I already have an original Xbox One & high-end PC gaming, Xbox One X is just for those who don't want nothing to do with PC gaming and wants 4K experience so this is clearly for those who are interested into upgrading.

There are two MS games I'm looking forward to is Crackdown 3 & Sea of Thieves. Cuphead is on my list but at this giving point, I'm just waiting for the reviews before I buy it.

I give MS Press Conference a C+

oh really? don't worry i believe you. see i love Sony they are my favorite gaming console but than i also Love Nintendo and at some point prolly will buy a switch just not right now. and i do want a One X. i just hate the price that's all. but people take the shit to damn serious man. i can't remember if i said this already my apologies if i have,

but what gets me into a console? well the games of course, if the games that are coming out look good and i don't mean graphics but the trailer for one. like Cuphead when i saw that was going to come out at last years E3 that made me want an X bone. i say it like that cause the name just makes me laugh that's all. i like all the consoles i think they are all great companies and each deserve their success. they need to learn from each others mistakes i think and work together maybe and the console wars should be over to be honest. i'm with Phil Spencer as he said recently even he hates the fan boys as they can take things to far.

and he's right of course. i don't really give a damn if it's 4K or not. nor do i give a damn if it's 30 FPS or 60. i was playing uncharted 4 this past week that i bought recently and if you guys have a PS4 that's a game you should buy it's a great game. the game is so good looking that i do feel like crying a bit cause i wish they looked that good when i was a kid. that's i think 30 FPS i read. but hey i can still say games from the 80's well some of them look good for the time period. all i want is a good game with good controls and a good story and that's pretty much it for me. i'm old fashioned i guess sorry if i repeated anything as i can't remember if i said any of this already

Well I can agree that MS should of just called it Scorpio, but I also saw an interview with Phil Spencer said that getting worldwide rights to the name "Scorpio" would be a nightmare. Having said that Xbox is in lesser territories than what the PS4 is, so it couldn't be that hard.

You're half right about the second part, I don't want to game on PC, there's nothing wrong with gaming on PC it's just not for me. As for 4K i'm not too fussed over it, I mean if it's there then it's there, but if not then that doesn't bother me either.

oh really? don't worry i believe you. see i love Sony they are my favorite gaming console but than i also Love Nintendo and at some point prolly will buy a switch just not right now. and i do want a One X. i just hate the price that's all. but people take the shit to damn serious man. i can't remember if i said this already my apologies if i have,

but what gets me into a console? well the games of course, if the games that are coming out look good and i don't mean graphics but the trailer for one. like Cuphead when i saw that was going to come out at last years E3 that made me want an X bone. i say it like that cause the name just makes me laugh that's all. i like all the consoles i think they are all great companies and each deserve their success. they need to learn from each others mistakes i think and work together maybe and the console wars should be over to be honest. i'm with Phil Spencer as he said recently even he hates the fan boys as they can take things to far.

and he's right of course. i don't really give a damn if it's 4K or not. nor do i give a damn if it's 30 FPS or 60. i was playing uncharted 4 this past week that i bought recently and if you guys have a PS4 that's a game you should buy it's a great game. the game is so good looking that i do feel like crying a bit cause i wish they looked that good when i was a kid. that's i think 30 FPS i read. but hey i can still say games from the 80's well some of them look good for the time period. all i want is a good game with good controls and a good story and that's pretty much it for me. i'm old fashioned i guess sorry if i repeated anything as i can't remember if i said any of this already

I don't care whether it's 30/60fps, 1080p, 4k or whatever, as long as the game is fun, damn with the rest.

oh my god thank you for agreeing with me, i dunno how many people i've seen online that care more about what the damn games look like than the actual games. i'm currently playing uncharted 4 and that game is not only a beautiful game i'd be lying if i said otherwise but it's a great game too. everything about it is good and it's also the best one i think in that series. that said i didn't go and pick it up cause the game looks damn good. honestly people are just to damn picky on what the games look like these days. shit i can remember going from the SNES to the N64 and back than you could tell my playing Mario 64 when that came out in (1996) the leaps and bounds how far ahead graphics came compared to the NES or hell even the 2600. and not all 64 games look that good but a lot of them do and some of them still look good today. some like Goldeneye the graphics haven't aged well but it's still a great game.

also that's right there why i want a x box one X the games Cuphead looks damn amazing man i love cartoons from the 30's. there's a special look to them that can't be copied today by today's cartoons they can try but it's not the same thing. however the guy who made Cuphead actually succeeded in making by the looks of it the exact way 30's cartoons were made. and i can't wait to play that, i hope it's as good as it look man. i was watching a video on you tube tonight and they were talking a game i forget which one to be honest and said it was 40 FPS i had no idea they could do that and yes i know they can do 60. but 40 i hadn't heard anyone doing it at that particular number. i'm sure people are going to bitch about that no doubt but it's a game to me that will still look good. the question is will it be a good game?

Mostly from cows & hermits lol.

The game that i'm interested in on the Scorpio is Forza 7, now it runs at native 4K & 60fps, but I don't care about all that I just want to play the game.

i'm awful at games like that so i doubt i'll get it. though it is a beautiful looking game though. i'm also really awful at 1st person shooter games which is why i avoid them and just stick what i'm better at which is 3rd person games. on Arkham Knight for example it took me forever to learn how to drive that damn car cause on how bad i was at it for the longest time. to the point i asked for tips online on how to learn how to drive it at least decently. having said that X box has some games i can't wait to play like Lucky fox or whatever the hell that game is called? than you have like i said Cuphead, that Marvel game looks badass too. i want to see actual gameplay of Crackdown 3 before i decide to buy it. that's one i have on a list to buy and i've never played the 1st two games.

@wildhoney66: Yeah i'm not a fan of first person shooters, although I play them on the odd occasion, Haven't play that Batman game, but surely the driving parts aren't that bad.

As for Super Lucky Tale (I think that's what it's called) is not my kind of game, I am however cautiously looking forward to Crackdown 3, as little less after seeing Terry Crews yell like a lunatic though :(
