Yes, you can play the entire campaign together.

Co-op campaign works well enough. At the start of every mission both players have a certain number of units. The game tries to splits the units equally. You share the same bases, so communication is critical. When you create units from your bases the units go to the player who cues them up. Players can give their units to other players.

The path finding in the game can be pretty stupid every now and then. Especially in small corridors and even more so if both players' units are all clumped together. Thats the worst it get, really. I find it best to have each player doing different tasks, such as one player managing the bases and resources while the other goes out and fights the baddies. Or have one player fight one set of guys on the map while the other fights other guys. The strategies you can use really varies based on the mission.

Thanks, sounds fun.

the co-op campaign is good, but be aware you need two copies of halo wars to do it... aka no split screen. My twin brother and I are going to get a second copy today so we can play on it together and play through it on legendary. The real fun in halo wars is on xbox live though :D

I'm not sure I've ever heard of an RTS having split screen, except maybe Pikmin 2 which was FAR from traditional.

This is not fair, me and my friend wanted to do co-op splitscreen now we can't because Ensemble Studios want more money :(
