It's a really good head set I have one and like it. I kinda like the wired one better though.

It works, but it isn't perfect. People complain that they can't hear me. The mic is placed too far from the mouth. It hangs funny on your ear. It also loses it's connection sporadically. One moment you hear them through the ear piece, the next you hear them through the TV speakers. It's more work than it's worth. I prefer the standard headset.

Also it gives terrible feedback a lot of the time for everyone else in the game. The voice quality is also MUCH worse the majority of the time (I can almost always tell when somebody is on a wireless mic when I am playing Gears). The mic is uncomfortable too IMO. I bought one and returned it because I pretty much hated it.

dude dont listen to them. i love mine. the sound quality is so far improved that the people sound like they do in real life but sound like an entirely different person. ik cuz i was private chatting someone and changed mid convo and i was like whoa weird. neways if you wear the it correctly (which is actually kinda tricky) it doesnt hurt (unless you have it on for 3+ hrs maybe but you prolly shouldnt go that long w/o a break anyways). whenever ppl tell me theres static i turn it off and turn it back on and its gone not a big deal at all. id definitely recommend it because even though i was iffy about getting it i would still get it if i was in the same position

that is only the launch wireless mics, the first batches, they have no resolved those issues. I find it comfortable. ppl have not once ever complained about any static or wierd noises from mine. it will sometimes drop out like the fellow above mentioned, however that is because it is linked with the controller, so if ur controller battery is getting flat then yes, it will start to drop out. I experienced this, and it happened frequently at the time, I was like wtf..as soon as I plugged in the play and charge cable, the drop outs stopped.. I love it, think its brilliant, get one!!

Personally I love it. The volume isnt as loud as the wired headset, but I get less static, my friends seem to hear me better and clearer, and I have had Zero connection problems.

I have friends in the US and the UK and have not had one issue with it. The wired does have the advantage of muting the mic but its not a big deal. The wireless headset is the best investment Ive made:D

u can mute the wireless, just tap the power button once to mute it, once again to unmute..while its muted you will get a single tone played in ur ear every so often.. thats why u need to hold it in to switch it on/off..

I posted a thread asking about the wireless headset last night and almost all the feedback was negative. So are the most recent batches of wireless headsets much more improved then the buggy launch ones?

everyone I know on xbox live that has a wireless headset has had issues with it...one way or another, *that static is so annoying and randomly happens* I think you're better off just saving your money and getting the wired. Then again you could always look into alternatives like the x-30 by Planetronics. That is the one I am currently using, it has great sound/voice quality (much better than the original), and its very comfortable. But its wired and cost around 30.

Wireless. Before I bought it people told me that they have problems but y'know what Ive learned?...  Wired headsets have as many, if not more problems. Sometimes wired headsets echo and you gotta tell a dude to unplug it and plug it back in. I think the problem is XBL in game chat and not the headsets at all. Wireless one comes with two different ear thingies ( I don't know what else to call 'em ) so you should get a good fit unless you are some kind of circus freak and sounds great, worth the purchase even though I already had two wired ( one came with premium console, the other in the XBL subscription)
