i just got a new 360 with all the new parts in it and now i find out theirs another one with newer parts comeing out soon to prevent problems how long have u had ur 360 and is their anyone here that still has their launch and never had to sent it out. o btw ive been threw 4 of them.
I had my first one for 6 months before it died. I've had the replacement for 1 year and almost 3 months now. I don't plan on upgrading to a new one until my warranty expires & the 360 breaks, but I don't expect it to break.
Bought it in June 2006, it got RROD in March 2008 (about 20 months it lasted), got it back in 2 weeks and it's worked fine ever since. So glad the repair was free. I was thinking though that the next time it broke down (if ever) I would buy the newest model since they are supposed to be more reliable.
life with my 360 is going great....i got mine at launch and I've only sent that one in once but by the time i sent it in i had already gotten the elite and i havent sent that one in at all and the one that i sent in i had given it to my brother....anyways I love my elite best purchase i have ever made although my girlfriend doesn't think so...lol:P
The first time I got the RROD I HAD to send it back.. but mine for some reason got the RROD 2 more times after that.. but its my stupid little power plug.. its that big box.. I just picked it up and turned it verticle when I booted up my 360 and I heard like one of those popping noices like a piece of fuzz getting shocked, and then boom no more RROD.. since.. just keep that box and the sex around 3 feet away from the tv and anything else that give off heat or radiation.. my wii is like a foot from it.. but that little thing does not effect my 360.. but yeah so I think Im good for a while
got one at launch, it got RROD. they sent me a new one, it got RROD, i sold the new one to my roommate got an elite when they launched it just RROD like a month ago, they sent me a new one lets hope it last but i love 360 and the RROD problem doesnt bother me as long as they fix it for free. and just got geowars 2 last night its AMAZING!
I have had mine since August 2006, got it for my birthday, It started to overheat during Christmas Vacation 2007. Found out if you blow into the ventilation spots and get all the dust out, your 360 will stop overheating. Also if you are skilled enough or know someone who is, just open the 360 and clean all the dust out. Overheating problem solved. No problems yet. *prays to god nothing happens to it*
I would recomend getting a cooling fan for your Xbox. I had to send 2 in before I got smart and got a fan for under the console. I havent had a problem scince.
I had my first one for 1 year and a half then it stopped playing discs..... they repaired it and its fine but I bought a new halo xbox because of the proccessor. I was lucky though I guess :)
I love that thing, i haven't had that much fun with a system since the NES when i was kid. My Elite broke after 10 months, RROD, the exchange took 12 days in all. I got a newer system with a quieter drive and a free month of XBL Gold. Note that im not carefull with it at all, i keep it in a closed tv stand which gets very hot. Why? basically i want it to RROD at least once a year. The way i see it i got 3 years of free, newer and updated 360's whenever mine breaks. So now i got a falcon (i checked) and hopefully this one will break next summer just in time for Jasper (and maybe an even quieter drive?), oh and another free month of XBL...
I don't know why everyone is so upset about this, in my book this is a sweet deal! Whats that MS? a new smaller GPU? Less noise? Hey Xbox 360, say hello to GE oven! oooops! 3 red lights? awww... another one please!
