I ALMOST bought kinect today

Well i was at good ol' wally world and wouldnt you know that they had kinect set up in the electronics department, so of course i tried it out, and i had to say, it was fun! I was just about to break out that magic thing, you know the thin, rectangular plastic one that people seem to give you stuff just for swiping it in the machine (credit card...lol) and i just couldn't do it. It's fun, but it ain't worth $150.00 big ones to me. What do you guys think of it?

yeah its not worth it i wouldnt get it. i heard its buggy and i think the games out right now are kind of lame.. but it is fun to play for sure!

I'm with the OP on this, $150 is just too much to shell out. Especially considering a Wii is only about $50 dollars more. Maybe it's just me, I would rather play Metroid Prime or Mario Galaxy over Kinectimals or Dance Central. The only two games that seem to be getting above average reviews. The hardware is cool to be sure. But the games just aren't there yet, and with the direction M$ is pushing it. It just looks like it's going to turn into the same gimmiky minigame heavy shovelware that plagues the Wii.

I agree, it really doesn't seem to be worthwhile right now. As soon as some better games are at least announced for it, the price can be more justified.

This sums up my experience 100%. Same thing happened to me and my friend at 9 pm last night. I had so much fun that I actually DID buy one today! I bought Dance Central with it since its the only Kinect game I care about and I must say that that's pretty amazing. We had a blast playing it and I'll be playing all day tomorrow. So, if any one or two games interst you or you're excited about the potential then I'd say go for it. For me it was worth it, and now I can say I have it for whenever anything quality does come! The tech is killer.

150 big ones by the way is 150,000 not 150 dollars lol....since when 150 was a lot of money....you buy games for 60...so 2 games = to it.... good fight :)

if you have kids I'd say go for it. They would love it for sure. Or if you need a good work out go for it.

I got it and my wife and kids and my wife's friends and my kids friends love it and I think some of their friends now want it.

I believe it'll sell way better than the Wii, cause it's better and does more.

Bought it months ago, got it yesterday. Love it. Works great!

I got Sonic Free Riders and Dance Central with it, both great launch titles. Friends also really enjoyed it, so much so that they all are getting their own!

Kinect is amazing. I didn't really know what to expect but it is actually quite addicting. The dance central game alone could keep you busy for weeks. Very challenging and shows off the technology quite well. Kinect sports is super fun. ANd I personally like the fightinguncaged game. Never had afighting game before where I could actuallyjump in throw an elbow to thehead followed by upper cut, hook, then a front kick to the midsection. A total blast.

I'm not surprised they expect to sell 5 million this holiday season.When I heardthat number I thought they were crazy. After playing it I realize it will probably spread through the holiday season like Wii did a few years back. It will be the thing for people to have. Amazing amazing amazing.
