So does this mean you can just rent a game, install it in your hard drive, return it and still have a copy of the game? Will you have to have the disc to start the game? How is this going to work? Would I just be able to borrow a friends copy of a game and install it into my 360, no strings attached?yentar480
you need the disc to play the game you think Microsoft will let do that not a Chance in hell

So whats the point in installing it if you need the disc to run it anyway?
[QUOTE="linklb4130"]i know, i cant wait...its gonna be kinda bad for me though. i still have a 20gb hard drive. i might have to get a 60gb or a 120gb.georgeverity
yeah same here but i would much rather pay 150 bucks than have to wait for my xbox to return from repairs for a month while a ton of games come out or CONSTANTLY worrying if my 360 is gonna start choking more than giraffe that accidentally swallowed tarzan's monster c*ck.

i'd guess for authenticity. its actually a pretty smart move

The disc in the disc tray wont spin and it cuts down on load time.
Will we have the option of whether or not it will install to the harddrive for those of use with almost full 20gb drives. If not, this feature will all but force players to upgrade to new hardrives.
No, this will be optional. Not everyone even has an HDD.Will we have the option of whether or not it will install to the harddrive for those of use with almost full 20gb drives. If not, this feature will all but force players to upgrade to new hardrives.

That and it will lengthen the life of your console because it wont have to work as hard, and Im guessing it will also sound quieter, like playing a demo *drool*
this will be like the PS3. u wait forever to instal the game, then it saves you time in the long run (shorter load times). but the 360 will have this as an OPTION, since M$ was stupid and released the "arcade" 360 w/o a Hard drive.
not that exciting if u ask me. it's just consoles becoming more like PCs. Just wait they will release a full size keyboard and mouse for the 360 soon enough. but you'll have to use the MS brand. they wont allow generic 3rd party keyboards or mice. lol
yes me too, but something tells me there is going to be a problem with people renting games ( or borrowing ) and putting them on the hardrive.....kebbin11Did you not read the previous posts? The disc will be required to be in the drive when you play it. Otherwise, obviously there would be a lot of "borrowing" going on.

Hehe, anyone with a little brains about soldering can fix the problem easily

no its not a soldering issue. its Microsoft's software not recognizing the hardware. Like you cant stream video from an IPOD, but you can from a Zune . Because the Zune is a MS product and Ipod is not. and im sure 3rd party peripherals will come out anyways. just not 3rd party HDD.........cuz M$ is greedy.
