I recently purchased an Xbox 360 250 GB hard drive off of a seller on ebay who makes his own drives. It works great for me, but I read that some people are having the same problem that I am when trying to play xbox original games while this hard drive is being used. When I put the game in, it says "Game won't start. Please download the game again". Just for the record it's Splinter Cell and it works fine on my other 20 GB hard drive.

I read online about using a PC/Xbox 360 transfer cable to transfer partitions from the 20 GB hard drive to the 120 GB hard drive, but I was wondering would this work for a 250 GB hard drive and could this cable or Xplorer 360 work on a 250 GB hard drive? If so, does anyone have any suggestions on how to run the program or anything? Any help is great appreciated, and here is the link that I found just in case you want to see for yourself.

If you're using a modified HDD, probably will get banned.

Why do you want to play old Xbox games? Just get an original Xbox, they go for like $50.00.

I have an original xbox, but I'd rather just be able to play them on one console.

I have Splinter Cell on disc.

it'll likely be because the drive is custom made,,,xbox doesnt really like custom made drives I'm afraid and I;m afraid you'll soon be banned with that thing on ... did you completely miss the ban hammer that went down a few months back?

I'm not worried about getting banned as I have had it up for a month with no problems and I'm not doing anything to hack into games or anything. I'd rather pay 80 dollars for this drive which no one else has problems with and get twice the storage space for half the price which Microsoft charges.

Whether you agree or disagree with what I'm doing, does anyone else know if Xplorer360 or transfer cables will work with 250 GB hard drives too and would copying the correct partition file from my 20 GB work on my 250 GB?

I don't think that Xplorer 360 or transfer cables will work with 250 GB hard drives too and would copying the correct partition file from your 20 GB work on your 250 GB __________________

Do you know if a compatible version of Xplorer360 may get released eventually as I know supposedly this technique works with 120 GB hard drives.

I know this is an old thread from a month ago, but I could not believe anyone knew anything in it either. It took a little bit of Google, but everything you need is here: http://beta.ivancover.com/wiki/index.php/Xbox_360_Hard_Drive_Upgrade

That site is THE source for this type of issue.
