this game has done something for me that no other game could ever achieve, I have always been a huge fan of space exploration, and I realize that I will be long gone before we have colonies on other planets and find other life forms, but when Iam playing this game I almost feel like this is what it would be like, so in a way it kind of filled that void inside of me wanting to know and see more about space, when I was on earth's moon " luna" I just sat there and stared at the earth for like 10 mins thinking is this what it would really look like? alot of work was put into this game and it really shows, I didnt think that i would be pulled into this game but now im hooked, this game is going into my top 3 games of all time and I will be playing it years from now.gamespot4lifelol...yes i agree it is an amazing game...ive been playing a long time to:)
Wow I liked that post it really verbalized a lot of my thoughts when playing the game.msdd9
thank you, i would have wrote more but i didnt want to bore people
I think I might have to biy a 360 again just for this game. I have always been totally hooked on space exploration etc, and this game sounds like a dream come true.VinnoT

Well you might.. this game sounds amazing but it's not appealing to everyone, i'd wait til I found more of a reason to go out and Rebuy a 360, not that I need to, but in your case you should probably wait for more appealing games.

the guy said he is into space exploration, this is the game for him, no other game will make you feel like this game does, especially if your into space exploration.
Still Space Exploration or not, 1 $65 game can't justify a $300+ Console. Thats all i'm saying, I looked forward to this game and was let down. Space Exploration it's a great concept and the way it's worked out is wonderful, but most Planets are empty and there are Tech Issues like whoa, it's just my opinion.
It's not a terrible game, just I don't think it's the best. I enjoyed my first play through after I got to Ilos.
i thought this would top Morrowind and Oblivion for me it didnt but like most of you i love space and this game can be on my top 5 maybe, top 10 for surelil_d_mack_314
Pretty much my thoughts. Oblivion is my favorite game for the 360, and Mass Effect doesn't come close in terms of the amount of depth, but it is still a lot of fun and a worthwhile purchase, no doubt.

I hear ya. I've played about 30 hours of ME and it will probably take me about the same amount of time to finish as it did for you. I've put in around 100 hours into Oblivion and there's still a lot of things I haven't touched, such as Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood, besides the point that you can continue to go on with side quests after you've finished the main quest in Oblivion.

I still play oblivion, but I have only done the guilds, some side quests and I amon the main quest just after paridise trying to get marting to the temple of the one. I have most of the expansion packs like battlehorn which is great! and soon I will go into shivering isles.
Problem is I hade a file before that and I was really far but I left marting somewhere (I kept him as a free bodygaurd). I looked in every inn and al the cities, then I gave up...
i cant wait for Christmas so i can actually play the games that everyone is talking about namely mass effect, AC and CoD4.master-renagade
Dude can you not rent them? I never have to wait for games, I either have enogh money to buy them or I just run over to blockbuster and rent it out.
For those thinking of buying this game because of the exploration: don't. The side missions and exploration of uncharted worlds is by far the worst aspect of this game. The main mission, plot and character interaction is absolutely awesome, worth the purchase price for sure, but the rest? Not so much. This is just my opinion of course, but I urge you to rent the game first if your main interest in the game is exploration. Also, head on over to the BioWare forums and search for "UCW" if you're interested in reading more opinions.Bane_v2
Agree that most of the side missions can't compare with the main mission. Many of them end up being very similar. However, I did get a kick out of landing on different planets, even scanning different planets and reading the descriptions and after I got used to the combat I also enjoyed looking for extra missions where I could get into some more fights.
I didnt expect every single planet to be brooming with life, thats why i like the exploration aspect of the game
What other planets/moons do you get to visit in the game? I'm still deciding if I should pick this game up or not.EnderSR388
im not actually sure what the number is, but its alot there are dozens of solar systems you can travel to in this game
When I finished Mass Effect last night, I sat there for 15 minutes after the credits rolled, thinking... wow, is this a glimpse of where humanity will be going in the next hundred or so years? Will we be embroiled in intergalactic affairs that make our differences in religion, skin color and other petty differences so important?
I firmly adhere to the idea that if everyone on the planet played Mass Effect, there would be no wars. It would show us greater things that the world, as big as it is has no place for humanity fighting itself. We need to take care of our planet, we need to take care of each other. Some day, we won't be on this planet alone anymore, but it will never come if we aren't tolerant an accepting of other people.
The moral choices (which BLOW Bioshock out of the water and into orbit) make you think, they affect you as a person, as much as they affect the in game experience. Virmire was a rollercoaster ride of epic proportions which in the end left you with some closure, but a clear sequel.
The only ending where things were so succintly answered like this was in Metal Gear Solid 3. Everything seems mysterious and what is going on... oh... wait, now it all makes sense.
Mass Effect goes beyond gaming, it goes beyond art, it transcends definition, it is an experience that I will never forget.
Having completed it last night, the rest of my night seemed empty, and I was almost loathe to play Eternal Sonata having completed that masterpiece.

Mass Effect opened my mind. The guys at Bioware really are epic story tellers, and in terms of gaming itself, they aren't bad as well. Just next game can you make it so people don't shoot at the wall?

yea that was one of the things about the game that really grinds my gears lol
 my friend and I were laughing about RPG's being the only games that get you dreaming about what you'll do next in them... wake up and BAM! the feeling is unexplainable. Or maybe its just a nerd thing...
continue to enjoy ME, that game is greatly underappreciated and I'm looking forward to firing it back up later tonight ;)

The only true flaw in a perfect gem.
Star Wars. Raiders of the Lost Ark. The Matrix.
These are all flawed movies if you nitpick, and I can rip all of these movies a new one. But all of them are greater than the sum of their parts because they are simply great experiences.
So is Mass Effect.
I'm so glad that I sat back and just enjoyed it instead of being mad at what it DIDN'T do. And I hyped this game up far higher than most folks.
