I got a Wii, and am disappointed that the same kind of online service is moving onto the Wii(friend codes for each game), and the games. And I KNOW the games coming out for it...-_- I want Metroid Prime 3, Brawl, and Fire Emblem.

If  I get a 360, I will get the premium(after the price drop, which might happen this year), wireless online attachment, Xbox Live, Halo 3, and Blue Dragon on the same day. I'm looking forward to some other games like Mass Effect, Resident Evil 5 next year(not coming on Wii), plus some arcade games. The only problem is that the 360 is pricey with online included(especially with the wireless attachement).

Get a 360. Best console this gen IMO. The games, graphics, online are all above the competition. When games like BioShock, Mass Effect and Halo 3 come out the competitors will be left in the dust.

No, I did not buy the Wii for online...Did I ever say I did? I bought it because of the innovation, popular franchises, Virtuale Console, and is not as costly as all the others.

360 however, is costly, especially with online play. It's WAY better than Nintendo's, and has more games I'm interested in, so that is what's bringing me to it, for a while.

I'm not sure about the cord, I don't have a PC in my room, so I gotta go through my basement and whatnot with wires

Im still thinking about the wires or not though, it saves me $80, but I prefer wireless.

I would suggest that you NOT get a 360. I've had mine for a year, and there have only been 4 games that I have really liked. Everything else has been a complete disappointment. I got tired of Gears of War after 3 days.

As a matter of fact, I got so tired of the 360 having no good games that I got a PS3 about 3 weeks ago. I have to tell you that I could not be happier with the PS3. The menu system on the PS3 is WAY faster and easier to use. You don't have to go into a crap load of sub screens like with the 360. Plus, you can download software updates to the console, which is really awesome. Looking at the release list for both consoles, the PS3 will have a lot more variety with the games because of all the Japanese developers. I'm enjoying RFOM and Motorstorm more than any of my 360 games, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Some other things a really like about the PS3 are the front loading disk drive, the SD card slot, the Blu-Ray player, being able to create virtual memory cards for PS2 games on the hard drive, and being able to have a disk in the drive without the game running like with the PS2. I like that feature because it lets me use my PS2 Codebreaker disk.

Anyway, I have been one of the biggest XBox fanboys on these boards for 2 years, so no one can accuse me of being a troll or a Sony fanboy. I'm just a recent convert who is giving some advice.

(obviously) The PS3 is pricey too, and with the combined price of the premium, wires, and Live service right now, it's just as much as the PS3. The Live community is bigger than PSN's too.

XBL is not really pricey if you think about it... $50 a year is $4.16 a month, which is less than a magazine costs. At least that's the way I look at it.

Well you technically don't HAVE to play online. I don't. In any case, whether or not you buy a 360 will depend entirely on what sort of games you like. In any case, you might as well wait till either the price drops or a game you want comes out.

Personally, I'm anticipating some of the rpgs, and forza. Gears was great for a cinematic experience, but may be more worthwhile as a rental if you're playing offline. So yea, wait for a game you want. As they say, different strokes for different folks.

Online is a big factor of why I want a 360, it's pretty good at it, better than Wii. I'm definitely going to enjoy games offline like Blue Dragon, but online helps the quality of games, something the Wii destroys(friend codes).

As kind of a followup or something - I've finally decided I want a 360 (thank you Worms!), but I've heard that there's a refresh expected this year.  I definitely like the idea of getting one of the new models when they come out (65 nm processor, mostly), but now that I've made up my mind I'm not going to wait forever.  So - I've got no real idea of how long I'll have to wait; I don't know how much difference it'll really make anyway; I don't want to buy now if the new versions are out in May.

Any thoughts on how long the wait might be? or whether I should just buy now?
