The only games that will last me long is mass effect and oblivion elder scrolls.
The rest of the games are live needed to be lenthgy and enjoyable.

There's a million games...I've had my xbox for a couple years and I've never been on Live. I don't have the time since I play a different game online all the time.
I still had fun with CoD4, Gears of War, and any number of single player games...Bioshock, Dead Space is awesome from the little i've played of it, Fable 2, Fallout 3 is coming in a week, Pure is awesome (though there isn't a lot to it), Tales of Vesperia is a fun RPG, Devil May Cry 4, Dead Rising, Orange Box...there's no reason you need Live just to have fun with the 360.
Eternal sonata(25 hours),Lost odyssey(50+),and Tales of vesperia not sure how longt it is but i believe it's like 50-60 hours. Fallout 3 will be increadibly long as well. Around 100 hours i believe with great replayabilility.craigalan23
My Vesperia clear time (1st time) is about 60 hrs, so that's about right.

Yeah i thought so. I haven't beat it just yet. It's such an amazing game so far i highly recommend it to you TC.
1st of all their is no point in buying a 360 w/o getting live. Most of the games out their have good, replayable campaigns but have a great multiplayer to back it up. Assassins Creed had a long storyline but no replay value whatsoever. GTA IV and Saints Row 2 also have legthy stories (saints is way better) and they have good replay value, well at least it's fun to go around and shoot up the place.Dawq902
IF the time has come that you shouldnt buy a gaming console without having ONLINE ...Then we are in trouble. If the games arent good enough for offline, then what good are they online? Run shoot, die...Run shoot die....Spawn, die, ...ect ect..That isnt much of a selling point to me.
Tales of Vesperia : Great game, I have put more then 100 hours into it and still enjoy it ^.^
Bioshock : Still a very fun game to play through.
Crackdown : Most underrated game this gen.
Mass Effect : A great game that I do not think anyone should miss.
Oblivion GOTY : huge game with endless amounts of stuff to do.
Many more but those are my top 5 offline games off the top of my head.(yes I know you have 2 of them haha)

It's because i have school lol. My dad won't even let me play WoW because it has monthly fees. My dad won't even let le play live because it has monthly fees. I just want to experience next gen console and play Final Fantasy XIII lol.
Why no live? it's where all the funs at. It's a part of the 360 experience. You need it. It's essential!MuffinPunk

Don't listen to him, there are plenty of good reasons to get a 360 without live, if you really like the Final Fantasy series you should atleast give Blue Dragon a try, as well as Lost Odyssey, and right now I'm playing Dead Space which may be the best single player experience I've had so far on the 360, it's incredible. However, if you're certain you're never going to want live, I'd get the Arcade package because the price is so very easy to swallow.
