I like Shadowrun - it's not nearly as bad as what people are making it out to be IMO. I like it - and from what I've read most people who have actually bought the game and learned how to properly play it like it too. Most of the negative criticsm is coming from people who have never played it or have only played it for an hour or less (not long enough to realize the games potential). Anyway - I feel sad for FASA as well and hope that MS still does an RPG in this game world even if this game doesn't sell the best. And really that's be nothing new for the Shadowrun universe - even on pen and paper it was never as widely accepted as say D&D - so as long as those of us who like it keep playing I'm in hopes more people will find that they actually enjoy this game.
:)
There going to be a demo on Live soon though so people will be able to make up their own minds.sardaukary

No thats the problem though people usually dont make up their own minds they will listen to reviews and to haters and never discover anything new well what im trying to say is if its the in thing for something to be out it will usually be out.Â

Exactly so lets all focus back on picking on Bullet Witch or something that actually deserves so much scorn! :)
Its funny though that there was like 7 Shadorun threads saying how good it was with a lot of people that agreed and then the review came out and all of the sudden theres a whole new thread of people who hate it, its funny how that happens.julianwelton
Yeah - that's because all of the people who actually own the game and have played it for more than an hour or two were posting how much they loved it. Then the review came out and all the people who haven't bought it are ripping it apart without playing it or only playing it for an hour and saying - yup the review was right.
LOL
Cracks me up - but it makes me more sad for the people who don't know what they're missing than it does for the game.
:)
With double the maps and more customisation and a slightly higher than budget price, this game couldve been a LOT better. A 6 month or so delay couldve done it wondersI like Shadowrun - it's not nearly as bad as what people are making it out to be IMO. Im not gonna lie to people so Ill only say this once, I am a multiplayer FPS fan boy and love the great ones and totaly flame the ones that are pathetic.
And after getting through the 6 training missions which are needed, I can now say that the game has more gameplay than any FPS game, even if it lacks mods IMO you can do a lot more fun and new things in this game than in all the maps that halo or unreal can throw at you.
This simple fact that you can glide to a sniper spot throw a strangle around the artifact and wait for the apposing team to come along before you snipe them off the map, then throw a nade down so they cant be reserected. That my fellow gamers is more diverse and interesting than any MP FPS I have ever played and the fact that it got 7 for gameplay just shows that some opions are daft even if they have their own website.
But hey its my opinion, but keep in mind that I have played a lot of FPS MP games in my life and I know which one fresh and fun and which ones are ripoffs from other games, and shadowrun is not a CSS copy because all it uses is the money menu and that in my eyes is a great move because it makes yuo work for your arsanal.
Plus this game makes any other FPS look like a simple run and gun even R6: vegas.

My thoughts exactly i completely agree.Â
Why feel sad? The developers was lazy and cheap. They cut corners and brought out half a game then sold it for full price. It's there fault and thereproblem that it's so poor, they shouldn't of been so cheap and lazy, i'd rather buy a game with a decent single player and muliplayer that hasn't cut corners to save time like i don't know - animations?CreepyBacon
From the looks of your gamer tag and what you have just said, I have come to the conclusion that you havent played the game and your basing your opinion on others. (sheep)
And the only animation that was cut was the ladder climb, and that was on purpose because its a fast paced game and it would take twice as long if you had to wait for each foot to hit each step.
Cheap and Lazy is what scares me, why would you think they are lazy the devolopers spent 3 years on the game and almost perfected the gameplay they wanted and I thank them for that becasue its the most important aspect of a game.
The maps are all great and the developer spent time to get every spot just right, and its better than having 30 maps but only 3 are good, because Id prefer games were every map is fun and exciting. The graphics are great nothing wrong with them no glitches or wierd textures.
But hey Im happy you wont buy the game im just tired of n00bs at the moment.
Plus I think most of you guys are just scared of the amount of gameplay involved and If im right you should stick to gears where you hide then pop out then hide again.
I picked it up yesterday and I've got to say.......It's absolutely brilliant. Played a few games with bots for the first couple of goes and knew I was onto a winner after "gusting" someone off a ledge, then gliding down and shooting them on the way down, then landing, followed by a quick tea-bagging before riddling his twitching corpse with more bullets so he couldn't be resurrected.
I love the maps (can't remember the name, but the one with the Dragon Bridge is my current favourite). The tech, magic and characters appear to be very well balanced. Definitely one of the best online FPS experiences on the 360.
Sadly, lots of people will read the various review scores and won't give it a chance. I think if the forthcoming demo had the tutorial in its entirety, a lot more people would pick it up.
i cant hold a live connection, can u get achievements against bots?miguelpaco
Not too sure to be honest. The only achievements I've been able to unlock so far are the ones you get for completing the training in the tutorial...Although, I can't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to unlock achievements against bots only......Actually, thinking about it, I did unlock one last night and it's an online specific one...I think it was called "Small World" or something. You get it if you play online against someone who is playing the PC version.

I totally agree that they shouldve delayed it a little longer - adding more maps and a SP story, then I think that it may have gotten at least close to a 9. Too bad they had to rush it.
I honestly did not like it. I played it at a friends house and it was just... repetitive... He is returning it tomorrow... I just couldn't get far enough into it to get hooked.Smakkjoo
I don't want to flame you or anything, I'm just wondering how it could get repetitive? Yes, if you choose the same race, same weapon combination, and same magic/tech combinations then sure it will get repetitive. However, with so many different choices available, how could it get repetitive? Teams change every time a match is done (so every 6-11 rounds) so you're meeting some new people, and keeping some other ones. Maps change so you have to change your strategy from the last game. The game mode sometimes changes so instead of trying to defend a point you actually have to attack it. With all customization and unique gameplay, I can't see how anyone can say it is repetitive.
it doesn't matter, i'm not going to support a game where you get 9 maps and multiplayer only, because you know MS is going to release a map pack for 10 bucks with 5 or less maps and i'm tired of being ripped off.paullywog
Again, you don't have to buy OPTIONAL downloadable content. Besides, 9 maps is too little? People keep saying this and I keep being bewildered. In Counter Strike: Source most people play DE_DUST. In Halo 1, everyone played Blood Gulch (I think that's what it was called). I could go on and on. As long as the 9 maps are a good quality (which they are) then it is plenty. Apparently you like quantity over quality though, am I right? Whatever.

Agreed. I haven't gotten bored once playing this game. I played for almost 8 hours straight yesterday.
[QUOTE="gatesd5"]Actually , you have convinced yourself that you cannot get back your full purchase price of $60 so you are desperately trying to enjoy it. The game bites.Areola54
this is ture. you are trying to justify that you just wated $60.
Another brilliant comment from someone who hasn't played the game.
I bought Shadowrun and I'm waiting for it to arrive. Should be here Tuesday. Gamespot reviews are really starting to annoy me. Although reviews are just a guideline. You can't have a few people from different companies review a game and expect it to reflect on what the majority general population would also think about it. And I also find it funny how many people are saying that we are just justifying wasting 60.00 bucks if we like the game. I've seen that one like 4 threads already  Anyway, I think it is going to be a great game. But if it's not, then I have no problem admiting to wasting my money :)

it's fair to say most of the proponents of this game probably ordered it online and now left out of a way to return it. What good is a MP game if lot of people don't buy it? who you going to play it with? how long are the servers going to be up when the game doesn't sell well?
and don't tell me every review site out there are baised and didn't play the game properly. scores are low accross the board.
don't expect people to rush out and buy every game disregarding reviews. at $60 most people will look at reviews and other peoples opinion before buying something. I do it all the time and it has saved me lot of money.
it's too bad for people that rushed it. thats the price you pay for not doing your research. at leaset learn from your mistakes.Â
