don't spend points just because you have them, wait till you see or hear about a game that really intrigues you, check it out, get a trial etc... then you can buy it.
Or if theres a game you often play, you really like but feel you wan't something more, get an add on that appeals. new maps are cool, new outfits...anything really.
If you fancy standing out from the crowd, download some gamer pics of your favourite games. i have cptn. macmillan in his ghillie suit, it's nice because it's a lot rarer to see people with these gamer pics. I wouldn't reccomend themes as they don't apply to the one place on the dashboard you'll spend most of your time (marketplace)
i can't stress my first point enough though, just because you have a lot of points, don't waste them on things you wouldn't normally buy, they will go quickly, i had 2500 2 weeks ago, now i have 700, 2 gh3 song packs and the cod4 map pack have taken me down a notch (though i don't regret any of my purchases ;) )

huh? what...sorry i fell asleep reading this
What are the achievement points, or whatever those are when you get an achievement for? I just bought a used XBox from my friend, he didnt't have Xbox live so he accumulated all those achievements from offline games.poonhoundWow...So in your little fantasy world, you thought MS would GIVE you money for playing a game that you bought...wow
Achievement points aren't worth anything. They are just there to show off to your online friends how many achievements there are. Microsoft Points are what you use to buy stuff. They are point cards you can find in stores and you can buy stuff from the Xbox Live Marketplace with them.
