Very strange.  I use to have this Wachovia debit card and i used it on Live to pay for things.  I have since closed my Wachovia account and now bank with SunTrust but I never changed my account information on Live and I just got this confirmation email from Microsoft telling me that I successfully paid 50 bucks for another year of Live.  I wonder if they realize their mistake and close my gold account or if I get a free year.  Just thought I'd share this odd occurrence with you guys.

I don't know man, it might go to collections. :? I'd check just to make sure you don't screw up your credit.

Edit: Sorry. I reread your post, I just skimmed right past "debit" card. The only thing I could see happening, which probably won't since you closed your account, is that Wachovia might send you a bill for the $50, plus over draft fees for not having the $50.

They'll figure it out and withdraw the live, Microsoft doesn't give anything away, except for broken hearts.

Happened to me once on my old credit card. I ended up getting 18 months without paying, then one day I was just silver again. They never tried to charge me though and I just buy prepaid cards now

your XBL account might get suspended, I've seen people with working credit cards get their accounts suspended for no reason!!

I hate to tell you this, but what happend to me was I bought a month of live with a credit card and they would keep charging me $10 a month for live automaticly. I had no option to buy it at the store because when I did and tried to input the code it would say that I already have live and it would not accept it. So then I finally cancelled my creadit card because Microsoft kept charging it, even after many phone calls to them.

After it was cancelled I still got live for a while, then one day it was locked (even silver) and soon after that I got a bill for $15.00 and they would not allow my gamertag to sign into live untill I paid it.

But I called and complained and told them about how many hours I've spent on the phone trying to remove my credit card from my gamertag, so they finally droped the bill and gave me silver back

Interesting.  So they will actually lock my account until I pay for however many months I've yet to pay for.  Thats fair I guess.  I'll just wait until they find out whats up then pay up like a good boy.
