ok something scary happend today. so i was playing cod 5 with a friend and all of a sudden my power went out for like a second and turned off my tv and my xbiox.

so i look at the xbox and i see 3 red rings on it blinking. i yelled for my brother to look at it and showed him. okay so then i turned off my xbox and turned it back on and it still workds not perfectly. it happened since like 2 and now its 6 in the afternoon so i think its ok. how do i get red rings though? i felt my xbox and its breathing out not hot air. so yeah can u tell me what happened.

Believe it or not, that's common when the power goes out and it's in use. Your 360 should be fine.

The power going out could have triggered a sensor in your Xbox to think something was wrong, its probably just a false alarm though, if it happens again is when I would freak out.

So guys, here is my delima, I have fixed 2 xbox 360's with the 3 red rings of death, sold one and kept one everythig was fine untill a week ago, I got the 3rrod back and I have tried fixing it 6 times since then and cannot get it to work. originally I did not use both the nylon and the metal washers between the heat sinks and the motherboard due to the fact that the nylon washer is the same thickness as the little nibs that were on the heat sinks from the factory, so just for sh*t and giggles, last night I went throught is again( almost out of the arctic silver past now) and this time I installed the nylon and the metal washers just like it says to do in the repair manual, but now I think that you can see between the cpu and the heat sink and also the gpu and the heat sink, any suggestions as to solving my problem ?????

lol. Man yuor xbox is going to be fine. Any time the power cable is not connected properly or it loses power while the xbox is still running it will rrod. You have nothing to worry about. Has happened to me numerous times with the POWERFUL GEORGIA THUDERSTORMS!
