[QUOTE="volcomstoner180"] i had a dream last night where I showed up to my gameshop on Apr 29, and they had sold my copy of GTA 4 special edition! it was the scariest dream ever and i woke up sweating
i hope i can sleep for the rest of the week....btw i was joking that dream never happened
but anyway what would you do if they sold your pre ordered copy, or even if they just didnt have any copies left?

Uh, I would suggest walking across the street and buying it elsewhere. I mean, when Halo 3 came out I went in on opening day but they were all sold out and the nerdy stereotype EBgames employee laughed at me and told me that if I were serious I would have had it pre-ordered months ago.
So I walk over to HMV and they have a wall of Halo 3's for sale. Then I walked over to Zellers and the same thing was there. A wall of Halo 3's for sale.
Again the exact same thing happened with Super Smash Brothers Brawl. EBgames sold out, but HMV and Zellers had ample copies.
This proved to me without a shadow of a doubt that if one place is sold out, then just walk across the street and get it elsewhere. There's no point in pre-ordering...unless you are all hyped about a GTA 4 fake lockbox to take to school and show all your cool friends and try and convince them about how cool you are.
I totally agree with you, there is absoultely no point in preordering any game. There hasn't been one major title thats came out and was sold out in every store on the release day. Gamestop always pressures you into preordering games, acting like its going to be sold out everywhere, maybe at there store but not all. Stores like Walmart, Target, Bestbuy, and CircuitCity will most likely have plenty of copies to go around on release day.
