When I bought Halo 3 my favorite mode to play was doubles with my friend, but since they started coming out with these map packs they restricted my favorite modes to DLC maps, i dont have any map packs, and nor am I gonna reward bungie with my hard earned money for doing this. and now they want to sell a 20-30 dollar expansion pack for the full $60s? This is complete Whorism!

You dont have ANY map packs? One is free(heroic map pack I believe) and Cold storage is a free standalone map. Why not start there?

big team social was my favorite and tey got rid of that too and some others ones that are dlc required, im fine if they added new modes n crap to it for dlc only but to take the game's original stuff and make you pay again to play what already came on the disc is just bullcrap

Bungie COMFIRMED that ODST is an "Expansive" to Halo 3, with its OWN campaign and co-op mode called FireFight. The campaign is confirmed to be longer than Halo 1 and Halo 2's campaign... Now is that really not worth 60 dollars? They have it at 60 Dollars for a REASON... you get what you pay for. As for the maps, if you can wait it out by not playing Many of Halo 3's Matchmaking Modes untill ODST, then don't get the maps. As for me, there is a ton of stuff the maps have and I am getting it very soon.

Will the games both still use the same servers? If so that's cool, but if not that's pretty lame since it makes 3's online a little obsolete. I mean it's only three more maps, they should just release that as DSL for 3, and not even put any online multiplayer in ODST since there is really noneed for it. I think the only reason why the game has any sort of online play is because they needed a reason to justify making people pay $60.00 for it.

ODST will have TWO disks... The first is ODST, the second is HALO 3's MULTIPLAYER. ODST does not have its "own" multiplayer. The 2nd disk with ODST will include everything Halo 3 has WITHOUT the campaign...

So a good idea would be to sell your Halo 3 copy (Unless you want to still play campaign) and get ODST.

I'm not selling halo 3. But that's cool, so it sounds like i will still be able to play with people regardless of whether they have 3 or odst.

Yes you will be able to, But Bungie might not let them all play untill they have the 3 maps ODST releases with.. its rumored to be on the Marketplace after ODST is released for the usual price at SOME POINT.

Halo 3: ODST new stuff (single player longer than Halo 1 & 2, firefight mode) - $40
Halo 3: Mythic Map Pack part 2 -$10 (like all other map packs cost)
Halo: Reach beta ticket - $10

People bought the two first Halo's for only ten dollars cheaper... now how is that a bad price?

Think how much a Beta is... they are worth MORE than ten dollars easily. When someone wants a Beta THAT bad... they go on ebay and buy it for a crap load

I'm in the same boat. I have Heroic and Legendary, and I'm only able to play 4 modes because the rest (aka the ones I want to play) require the new maps. Why...this is the only game that has this problem.

It comes with 2 disks (Odst and Multiplayer). As for the extra stuff, you will get a code if you pre order to play and Sg. Johnson in Firefight, and for the Beta you will get an invite whenever it comes...

As for the maps, they are all included on the 2nd disk with everything Halo 3 has to offer exept for campaign, no download required woo!

Why should people who have all the map's be restricted to DLC playlist's, while all the people too cheap to buy them play everything?

Miyuki-Chan

As much as I hate Epic, they're doing DLC right. First off, you have an entire playlist dedicated to the Flashback, Snowblind, Combusitble and Dark Corners maps. Not only that, but if everyone in the room has the same map pack then those maps are also in the rotation. I've gone into the Execution/Warzone playlists and gotten Flashback, Snowblind and Combustible maps. Before I bought the All Fronts collection, I was still able to play Execution/Warzone.

People were bashing Epic for making map packs too quick, but you know what? Nobody was ever forced to buy them. If you loved Guardian, you could play Guardian. If you loved Submission, well if atleast 5 other plays in the match liked it, you could play it. You wanted to play Annex? Go ahead, nobody is stopping you.

However, Halo on the other hand. Oh, you like Team Doubles? Too bad. No map pack, no play. Oh, you liked Team Slayer? Too bad, go spend $17.50 on maps that are barely in the rotation.

I love Halo but you Halo fanboys need to stop. He's cheap because he doesn't want to buy them? Why should he have to pay more to play the game he bought? I have nothing against DLC, my complaint is against Bungie basically forcing us to play it. Without it, we have few playlists to play.

-Lone Wolves: Oh boy, Team Slayer Guardian is SOOO much fun.
-MLG: Gee, I wonder how many people are going to quit once they start losing. 3? 4?
-Squad Battle: Yes! Can't wait to play Big Team Slayer on Standoff, One Bomb on Standoff or Big Team Slayer on Construct (really? This map is too small for 4v4's, and they think 8v8 isn't too much? It's overkill)
-Social Slayer: ZOMG teh funz! Can't wait to go +40 against guests who stop when they shoot.
-Social Skirmish: Same as above

I might be forgetting one more but who cares, it's just as useless as the ones I named.

Main reason why i stopped playing Halo 3 on LIVE everything gets really boring knowing that only way something gets interesting is if you buy the map packs, thats why I dont even know if I should buy ODST, because how boring matchmaking is, then again I want to try out that Halo Reach Beta... or I could register on Bungies site like they did for the Halo 3 Beta and see if I get invited again:Pthat way I didnt have to buyCrackdown. So for now no ODST, it's CoD:Modern Warfare 2 that's getting my money:D

On Gears with DLC playlist's9/10 time's I end up playing a game mode I don't want or a map I don't like,so like most others I get theDLC achevements (witch takes about a day)then go back to the old playlist's and never touch the DLC map's again unless on the extremly rare match everyone in the game has the DLC and actually vote's for it but that happens so rarely you don't really have a point, but on Halo you are free to play all the DLC on most of the game mode's and not be held back by people who don't pay.

Gaming especially online is very expensive if you don't like paying extra's I suggest taking up a cheaper hobby.

And yes, Bungie is being ***** for restricting playlists. COD, Gears, and pretty much every other game doesn't restrict you from playing but Halo does.[QUOTE="lman013"]Halo 3: ODST new stuff (single player longer than Halo 1 & 2, firefight mode) - $40 Halo 3: Mythic Map Pack part 2 -$10 (like all other map packs cost) Halo: Reach beta ticket - $10 People bought the two first Halo's for only ten dollars cheaper... now how is that a bad price? Think how much a Beta is... they are worth MORE than ten dollars easily. When someone wants a Beta THAT bad... they go on ebay and buy it for a crap load

lol @ charging for a beta. YOU are testing the game for THEM. Betas are free. ODST's single player is NOT going to be longer than Halo 1, 2, or 3 (I guarantee it).

It's not dev's that sell beta's it's people who have beta code's that sell them.

Once ODST comes out i'm selling my Halo 3 so I can have some money to go towards ODST. I haven't even bought the Legendary or Mythic map packs yet, because if I did then I would'nt sell Halo 3.

He included the beta as part of ODST. So yes, according to him Bungie/MS are charging you for the beta.

I know it sucks for Bungie to do that. If you really want to play Halo 3 again then I suggest getting ODST as it contains all of the maps and plus the campaign.

Ok whatever chill out... no body is making you get it. If you don't like the price why cry about it? Get Call of Duty.

Then the best advice I can give you is to maybe just move on. Find something both you and your friends can play.

1. I am chill. This is a video game message board. There is nothing to get upset about. 2. I am going to get the game. I am pointing out that your way of justifying the price is ridiculous. 3. No one is crying.

Its just about money and marketing.. Bungie isn't the only dev that wants money FYI

NOBODY is making you get ODST or the new maps..
