Are you serious? CoD4's maps were too small, flat, and not to mention that each one basically came down to bottlenecks. MW2's maps are much more intricate which makes for better gameplay. You always have to be aware of flanks and you have to look up and down, not just forward. All of the maps are pretty bad. None of them can even compare to CoD4's.

I hate all of them except for high rise, scrapyard and wasteland...don't worry we'll get more maps soon, and they better be COD 4 maps lol.:P
the only map i hate with a passion is rust, its so stupid, oh lets have 12 people in a map that barely holds 4-DirtySanchez-On the GSUK Community Night we had 18 on Rust in Free For All - total carnage :D
i kinda like derail. i hate the distance you have to sprint and when you eventually get there some sniper spots you and you have to do it all again, and then theres the dark camping spots and the sneaky model 1887 akimbo users who always get you. ok i hate it, i lied. i like a couple of maps but most of them annoy me. i only ever played cod4 once after i played mw2 so i couldnt get into it.

So true...
hmmm good point, maybe thats why they make crappy maps in the first place, on purpose so that all people would buy better maps in DLC.I hate all of them except for high rise, scrapyard and wasteland...don't worry we'll get more maps soon, and they better be COD 4 maps lol.:P

Who in there right mind thought up this map...

Someone who didn't care about the quality of the game because they knew sites would overrate it due to hype, and they knew 5 million+ would buy the game.
That's what happens when you overrate a game. COD4 got Top 25 in GameInformer's Top 200, seriously? Apparently it did more for console FPS than Halo CE.
Let this be a lesson, do not overhype and place developers on a pedastal that they do not belong on.

Scavenger + HeartBeat Sensor + Claymores makes your ideal gameplay useless.
If I wanted to I could get a Nuke every game easily with:
Primary: M16/ACR with Heartbeat Sensor
Secondary: Akimbo Model 1887
Special Nades: Stun Grenades
Equipment: Claymores
Perk 1: Scavenger Pro
Perk 2: Stopping Power Pro
Perk 3: Ninja Pro
Deathstreak: Lol, because I'm going to die right?
Killstreaks: Harrier -> Chopper Gunner -> Nuke
I only have to work for maybe 10-12 kills with that killstreak setup. But to further disprove your ideal gameplay, I've done it before with:
Pavelow -> EMP -> Nuke
Most of the kills come from people trying to flank me. Almost nobody uses Ninja but for those that do, I have this thing called eyes so I see them anyway. Anyone that tries to come from behind runs into my perfectly placed Claymores. Rinse and repeat.
The game is far too simple and for you to basically say it's more complex than COD4 is laughable.
Being spawned way away from the action on Derail can be annoying, sure, but overall, I love the map. There's lots of ways to get from Point A to Point B, and I dont know what I'm doing differently, but I dont have a huge problem with snipers on the map.I thinkwith the long distances and large area to cover, it seems that snipers have their work cut out, making it easier to cross that large middle area without too much danger.
I'm definitely a run-and-gun player, and there's no reason you cant do well with that playstyle here. Snipers are a threat on most maps, you just have to know the sniper spots and ensure you're not mindlessly running into a danger zone.
[QUOTE="wwervin"]I just hope they give us some decent dlc. Something tells me the maps were made terrible on purpose to force us to buy into their dlc.ThePRAssassin
So you'll buy the maps if they're decent? Wow.
DLC should not be supported if the original maps suck. Whatever..continue to send out a message that says "hey, we're too stupid so we'll keep supporting your garbage game because it plays itself for me!"
Since most of you are too slow, the message you are sending out is "hey, release terrible maps initially and then release 3 average maps for $10 and we'll buy it!"
You have a point there I'll give you that.. we're not exactly setting a good example by buying into their mind games.. but what else are we supposed to do? I paid 60+ for this game and I want to enjoy it to its full potential, and if that means a few extra bucks for some good content then so be it. At least they're not forcing us to pay for the new maps. Anyone recall Halo 3? That was a nightmare.. unless you constantly bought their 50 map packs you were locked out of pretty much every playlist. It was like being forced to buy extra content to play the original content it came with.Since most of you are too slow, the message you are sending out is "hey, release terrible maps initially and then release 3 average maps for $10 and we'll buy it!"

You can quit acting so condescending, man. Not everybody is some god like you and can get 25 killstreaks at will.
I think most people complain about which maps they like/dont like based on what they are good at/not good at. People tend to like maps they do well on, and if they dont tend to do well, they dont like it. Kinda natural to feel that way, but probably not something that people will openly admit.
And I for one, WILL buy DLC for MW2. I love the game anddont find most ofthese exaggerated claims of issues and balance reasonable(I think its also becoming *popular* to hate on MW2). I like the maps for the most part(which is the most I can say for just about any shooter - none have 10/10 maps across the board) and I'd like more.
If you dont like the maps, then dont buy them. But for those who dont have the same issues as you, we will buy them. And it will send the message to Activision that not everybody agrees with you.

^^ To sum up what he just said: "Ha ha ha.. I'm amazing at MW2.. look how special I am. I'm putting you down for thinking it's more complex than CoD4! Ha ha ha!" Seriously, the maps are more complex. Like I said in an earlier post, more vertical. Means more people camp higher up now.. or lower, depending where you are. All in all it's annoying. Not to mention many of the maps on this game are terrible. Not saying CoD4 maps were better, but these could've been better. I just hope they give us some decent dlc. Something tells me the maps were made terrible on purpose to force us to buy into their dlc.wwervin
They are better, actually. They were a lot smaller, but that's really for the better. You can actually run for 5 seconds without worrying about getting sniped or killed by campers from several windows. I mean seriously, what's the point of being able to sprint if all that's going to do is get you killed?
Oh yeah, I made a bet with my brother that the first DLC will just be maps from CoD 4.

I would be pissed if they were CoD4 maps. Personally, I felt like the maps on CoD4 was one of its biggest weaknesses. I even felt like WaW had better maps. Anyway, if I buy a new game and if they expect me to pay for more maps it better not be ones that I've spent literally days of game time playing on already.[QUOTE="MadVybz"][QUOTE="wwervin"]^^ To sum up what he just said: "Ha ha ha.. Although MW2's maps are far more intricate than those in CoD4, they are mostly all camper-friendly maps that reward players for being lazy buggers who peer out windows for the whole game. That said, I'm sorry to say that I've had to resort to this tactic often on pretty much every map but Sub Base and Scrapyard, on which it's only used every once in a while.
Now compare that to Halo 3 which both rewards campers but still makes it a manageable task to take one out even with a head-on assault.
