I'm not. And no one cares how many Gamerscore points anymore. People only mention your GS if you have it amazingly high, other wise they can care less.

If you don't want to get GS, then don't.  You shouldn't be trying to impress anyone.  Especially people who you may never even talk to and will never see in real life.  I only look at GS while in the lobby of online games.  It just gives you an idea of how much someone may have played that game and can give you clues as to their skill.  For example, in Rainbow Six Vegas, if I see their "killer's spree" or "killer's rampage" achievement is more recent than their "officer" or "elite/best of the best" achievement, then I know that they boosted and to expect them to suck.  I have a guy on my friends list who has over 60,000 GS and I don't think he is any cooler than my friends with less than 2000.  In fact, it makes me think that he has no life other than video games.

Only time I really care about gamer points is when theres a rewards challenge. Otherwise I just get them from playing the game.

Yeah i know what you mean.  I really don't play games for achievments.  Sometimes it's cool to unlock some nifty ones here and there, but other than that they're pretty much pointless.  I have friends that are like "man, aren't you gonna try and get 1000 points for that game"  I usually respond with a blank stare followed by...." sorry, im not a gamer that jumped on the fad band wagon".  They get angry, but then agree that they're retarded.  Achievments bring un-wanted stress.

Well if you feel pressured to play a videogame just to get a few more "points" than you're a tool. What's the point of these "points" anyway? No matter how many you can accrue, you'll never have more than the guy who has the most, who probably plays the 360 24/7. I don't have time for that bs and personally I could really care less...Yeah, it's a cool little sound when an achievement pops up, but what does that really matter at all?

The only time achievements are even worth it is if they challenge you to do something you didn't know you could do in the game and if they unlock things for you to use, like the Zombie Genocider achievement in Dead Rising which unlocks the ultimate zombie killer, the Mega Man Megablaster :)

I think gamerpoints are useless, one of my friends have taken it very seriously, he told me he has no idea why he even played games before gamerpoints and that's the only reason why he plays them now, he's a hooven :D

I like the idea of achievement points, you're complaining they make you go back to a game, isn't that just called replay value?

I don't see the gamerpoints as any kind of a status symbol or anything, I am just a fanatical completionist.  The kind of guy that has to keep playing an rpg until I completely leveled everything and got all weapons, items, etc.  It's just obsessive compulsive for me.

I like the idea of adding some replayibilty but no one really cares how much you have. But it helps me get a little bit more value from a game.

I enjoy them I just recently got in a little fun spirited point of trying to get more points then a friend and it's fun because I will pass him then a few days later he will pass me and it continues. I've found myself going back to games i still own to get more points and more value out of my purchase, So I like them.

The only reason why they affect me is because everyone plays games for them. i would see someone play just for a weapon achievement. i just play to get my in-game rank up in the top...

no one cares. the most you will hear from other people is randomly in lobbies someone will say "you got a lot of gamer points" if you have like 10k+ or something.

well i like gamerpoints because they put alot of replay value into your games. it makes you go back and try to unlock achievements. but sometimes it is annoying when you feel you NEED to get those last couple of achievements in one of your games and it just so happends the achievements you need are really hard..i know some im just never going to get and its kind of irratating.

I like them. It forces me to try things in games that I wouldn't bother with otherwise, and in most cases, either the difficulty or the novelty in completing the achievement is reward enough. Would I normally try to get 53k+ kills in Dead Rising? No, but I bet it'd be pretty darn amusing.

Honestly if i see a guy with gamerscore above 80 but under 1000, i immediately assume that their noobs or aren't good at games, and hence i tend to want to avoid them. Its a bad way to look at things i know but previous experiences have taught me so.

I like them but I don't feel compelled to earn them all in every game. An example would be my Sonic: Level Mastered Achievement on Sonic the Hedgehog. Even though I wanted that one I won't be trying to unlock the similar achievements for Shadow or Silver. Once was enough when it came to those two.

How can something like that cause "pressure"? Nothing should influence you to care about gamerscore ranks. I fear for you and peer pressure. Stay away from MTV and stuff because they will have influenced into becoming a gangsta wannabe with pressure. Atleast it does to other teens it seems.

Its not positive replay value if your going back to a horrible game and your playing it just to get the points out of it.

MS is making some of us care with their competitions.  Anyone remember the Olde Spice Challenge?  "Buy or rent our games all the time so you can get enough achievement points to get........Contra on XBL."  What?? You might as well just offer me a free T-shirt.

I personally do not play for gamerscore/points. But I love the achievements.

It is true the gamerscore is pointless, but the achievements are there for people that want to push them self to the limits of the game. You should never feel as if you have to do them. They are for if you want to play the game but are un-sure what to do, or if you can unlock something ECT.

So take it as fun, don't take it as something serious.
