I got 12 hour silver (not knowing i had to have GOLD to play Halo 3) but crackdown came with the gold 48 trial so what happens if i used the 48 trial after already having silver?
what will happen is for 2 days your account will be a gold one then convert back to silver after the time period is up.johngmills
No you are still a silver you can just use live as if you were a gold. Maybe it is not that way for first time subscribers but I did that just recently to see if it temporarily upgraded you and it didn't.

How do you have a "12 hour silver?" Silver is the basic Live, meaning you have it for free for as long as the service is provided by Microsoft. If you bought or receieved a Gold card membership trial, then that will replace your Silver membership until Gold expires.
