If my brother wants to play on Xbox Live on my 360 (I have an Xbox Live account already) do I really have to pay for another Xbox Live membership? If I do, that's complete B.S. on Microsofts part. I can create up to 5 PSN accounts on my PS3 btw.

Why not just let your brother play on your Xbox Live account aswell? And, some games like Halo 3 will let you play on Xbox Live with "Guests" and other people.ISuperGamerII don't want him playing on my account because some games have ranking systems. I'd rather rank up myself than have someone else do it for me. You're not trying to make an excuse for MS are you?

No, but if you have to pay $50 then why would they let you make free accounts after the first account? Only thing you can really do is make free Xbox Live Silver account to get SP Achievements.

They can alwasy tie the Xbox Live account to the console. They just want to screw folks out of more cash.[QUOTE="ISuperGamerI"]I don't want him playing on my account because some games have ranking systems. That is the lamest excuse I have ever heard...And he doesn't have to make excuses for MS because it is what it is, let him play or make him pay, it's really not that complicated...

Or they can limit each main account to 5 sub-accounts. See where I'm getting at?lmao just play on the same account. its not a big deal, and if you dont want him playing ranked games then just tell him to play social playlists.. thats what my friends do cause their bros arent very good and they just want to play the game and dont care about ranked so the brother just plays the social playlists.
it would be terrible if you could just make a new account for xbox live for free.. so many people would keep doign that just to destory all the low level people in the ranked games, and that would ruin the ranking system
He's old enough but why should he pay for his own account when it's my console? If PSN can offer 5 accounts on one console, why can't MS offer the same? You know why? It's called MILKING GAMERS! PSN offers demo's every week now and online play is FREE. They also offer DEDICATED servers which Xbox Live does not. The only thing Xbox Live has over PSN is party invites in my opinion. That by itself is not worth the 50 dollars a year. Since I love my 360 and I love gaming online, I'm forced to pay to play. Sad.if your bro wants to play online, have him pay. if he cant pay for himself, he isn't old enough to be playing online anyways

It's 50 dollars each... Microsoft doesn't distinguish a family, each of you is using the service and therefor pays for it. PSN is free for the time being, but starting next year, Sony will start charging for it. I recon about 50 or 60 bucks a year.

Tell him to play non-ranked games.

Well, PSN's service cannot be compared to xbox live's service... If you don't like it, why don't you just tell your brothers to play on your ps3 while you play on xbl? And really, if you can't accept the fact that you have to pay for each gold account, then stop giving yourself a hard time about it and move on with your life.

Since when did Sony announce that they were going to charge for PSN? Never, that's when.[QUOTE="LuvGaming"][QUOTE="xraystar"]He's old enough but why should he pay for his own account when it's my console? PSN does compare with Xbox Live. Sorry to break it to you. Both have their own pro's and cons.If I want my brother to play on my PS3, I'd have to buy 2 copies of each game. No thanks.
lol nah i really dont care if you have it or not, its just funny that ur talking crap about xbox live, when you urself pay for it, if you pay for it, it must be because you like it and its worth the 50 dollars why else would you get it, as for the PSN its free we all know, no one caresinfinitemurderDid I ever say that I didn't like Live? Read correctly next time.
