After I sent my 360 into for repair Microsoft said there were no problems with the 360 and it was in great working condition. They asked if I had it plugged directly into my outlet and to be honest - I don't. The 360's power requires a 3 pronged outlet and I don't have one. Microsoft made me feel like I wasted 2 weeks and 30 bucks shipping it out to them, and I'm angry as hell. For my PC which has a 600watt PSU, I just have it plugged into a power-strip which is plugged into an adapter and I've had ZERO problems with my PC and everything else (7 other things) plugged into my outlet. Is Microsoft just pulling my leg or what? Is there any way past this?

You don't have to be plugged directly into a wall. I've used a high-end power strip with my 360 & haven't had any issues at all. Just don't use extension cords or really cheap power strips. I don't know about adapters though, it doesn't sound like a good idea.

I've got no choice - the power strips require adapters. Maybe Microsoft got the wrong unit or maybe after a week of cooling off it works for a bit?

Oh, so let's say that I hypothetically have my 360 plugged into a power strip I've had for YEARS. I haven't had any problems at all with it, but it looks kind of cheap to me. Maybe it's just old. But this is all hypothetical of course......So in this hypothetical situation, what should I do?

I use an extension cord that I have used for every console I have ever had (looking to upgrade to a power strip because I ran out of slots) and it works fine I would reccomend a power strip if you dont have an outlet for it.

How should I know? If it works good for you then you probably shouldn't sweat it.
