Please ignore the rather large text. I bought a Wireless Xbox 360 controller, today I tried it,and it doesn't work. The batteries are inserted correctly and all that ,but it keeps giveing me all four LED lights flashing on and off and just simply won't connect. Should I trade it in or something> I know it's not my 360, since I already have a wireless controller and it works perfectly. Any advice or suggestions are welcomed.

there is a little tiny button on top of the controller. press it, it should start blinking. then there is the same one on the 360 faceplate, press it. then you are all set

Once you turn it on you press the small white button on the front and then a similar button on your 360. That way they connect.

Well what I should do first is swap the batteries of your working wireless controller with the not working one and see if it IS the batterys altho u stated it isnt, if this aint the problem I would just go back to the store , tell them your problem and ask them for  a new one since theres something wrong with the IR(?) of the wireless controller

no, as i told you before, there are two identical buttons, one on the controller and one on the 360 with a little wireless signal. press them and they should take less than a moment to connect

This is probably the most n00bish thing I have ever done, I didn't notice that little white button on the 360. But, both controllers are working fine, thank you if I had returned and got another one I would still have the same problem. So now I can play Gears with a friend, thanks again.

turn on the 360 and then the controller, push the tiny button on top of the controller and the button  on the 360 next to the memory card slot. it should work.

You could have tried to read the manual....

It's in the manual that you got with your 360.

And it's in the manual you got with the controller.

And it's on xbox.com.
