I'm saving for an Xbox 360, and I'm thinking about getting Forza Motorsport 2. I have a few questions:

1. I'm a casual racing game fan, so is this a good racing game to play gradually?

2. What do you think of the gameplay compared to the Gran Turismo games on the PS2? How is the difficulty?

3. How is the on-line play? Is it easy to find a game?

Thanks. :)

What do you think of Forza Motorsport 2 compared to Project Gotham Racing 4? I might get that game later, as well. :)

Now I play them both (Forza and Gran Turismo) and I found the opposite to be true. With a lack of damage and a looser physics engine, I felt that GT had more of the arcade feel. Graphics do go to GT though.

1)The game is good but career mode is very very very very long.

2) I think I've play GT and they are about the same. As for the difficulty I think it's challenging on because this a totally new racing experience for me after playing NFS Carbon

3) Not sure but according to my freind you will probely find some.

1. Yes, because you will want to race the same races to get more money for better cars before you progress, in the process you learn your lines and limits, setup is crucial in longer races so start messing around with that as well. I recommend watching replays with the telemetry on and knowing exactly what is going on with your car.

2. GT is a driving simulator, FM2 is a racing simulator, if it gets to hard you can always adjust the difficulty in FM2, but you won't progress as fast as you would with harder difficulty and other options turned off.

3. Its good depends on your skill level and the cars in your garage and race tracks you like.

First...if you enjoyed Gran Turismo, then you will enjoy Forza Motorsport, I lived on Gran Turismo for the greater part of a decade, and though Forza is not as good as Gran Turismo, you will enjoy it greatly until the release of GT5.

1. Like Gran Turismo, the advancement can be achieved either rapidly or gradually, depending on your involvement in the game, I have been playing it since November, and like GT, I've taken extended breaks without any detriment to my skill. With all of the customization options available, you will likely still be playing this game here and there before the release of MS's next console, or next iteration of Forza, whichever comes first.

2. The gameplay is as similar as it can be when comparing a current-gen racing sim with the GT series, since it has not enjoyed a full-fledged release for this generation, BUT...the gameplay is similar, though you can calibrate Forza 2 to be more arcade-esque if you so wish. While if you want Forza to be more realistic than GT4 or earlier, it can be, due to the capabilities of the 360 compared to the PSX and PS2, though GT5 will probably be a more accurate simulator when it's released. I have to admit, though, that I still enjoy playing GT4 more than Forza 2. The musical composition, organization of events, progression through the game, vehicle selection, and racing type are far more refined in the Gran Turismo series. Sometimes Forza can feel tedious and limiting, especially where credits are concerned (unless you compete, and win, online). It is no more or less difficult than Gran Turismo, unless if you choose for it to be full-sim, which provides the added difficulty of real-time mechanical and cosmetic damage. Like I said, if you enjoyed GT, you will enjoy Forza.

3. It is enjoyable, and you will rarely encounter immature or confrontational people. Games are always available, but it may be difficult to compete, because the majority of us online are devoted Motorsports fans who have been online for some time now. If you're committed to online competition, you will fall in love with it, though it may take time to adapt to other drivers that aren't on-rails riding the line.

4. PGR is comparable to NFS, while Forza is comparable to GT, there is very little correlation between the two pairs, aside from the fact that you're racing real-life production and racing model automobiles. PGR and Forza are both good in their own right, but there are few similarities.

Hope that answers your question concisely.

That's entirely based upon opinion. I have always been an amateur mechanical engineer (and when I get my next car, a Porsche 944, Honda Prelude, or Toyota MR2), I also aspire to compete in motorsports on the amateur level, so I inevitably enjoy Forza and GT more. If you are even remotely interested in performance tuning and realistic competitions, Forza is the only option. If you would rather race for fun without any tedious technical minutae, PGR is for you. They have equally high production values, it's just a question of what "your thing" really is.
