Well, heres the deal, my launch console crapped on me thursday, and MS wasn't gonna fix my system for free. I really didn't want to send it in anyway and end up with someone elses refurb + you only get a year warranty tacked on ($140 a year, no thanks). I decided to run to bestbuy and grab a core with a two year warranty, that way, all I have to do is bring it back and they hand me a new one, no problem. Anyway, my question is, and forgive me if this is a stupid question, but does the cores brick have a built in surge protector as well? I noticed the plug is a 2 prong, and the plug on my premium was a 3. I know the 3rd prong is the ground, so I was wondering if they are different. I know your supposed to plug your 360 directly into an outlet because of the built in surge protector, so whats the deal?

I would imagine the states, due to the use of $$$ and bestbuy, who I have never personally seen in the UK

also AFAIK you NEED an earth prong, whether plastic or metal to plug a plug into a UK socket, 'coz the live and neutral sockets are protected by a little flap... anyway.

my 360 core has a proper earth connector, so I don't know why yours hasnt :/ Unless they make them differently in the UK

maybe get a different power brick? It certainly seems quite odd.

oh, remember with a different 360 you NEED to be online to play XBL arcade games.

I live in the states. I also thought it was odd I was unable to use my AV cables from my premium. This thing has some goofy quirks.
