Character detail? I would say they are the same. You can see every piece of equipment on the Rainbow Six: Vegas models in good detail. The faces are very detailed, and so is the equipment, so I would they are the same. Also, they both have the same texture detail. Look at the ground next to Dom's feet in the second GoW pic. That is muddy. Neither game has great textures.
I know they both use the same engine. I just think that the first person view is better for said engine. Plus, Rainbow Six: Vegas is not as drab as GoW, so I like it better. But both games have the same quality textures: not much above average.

Gears of war has very good textures, all are very high res, some of R6V textures look cut right out of GRAW. And the 360 handles Gears better than R6V, R6V has screen tearing still visible and the framerate is still prone to dropping a bit. Also the character detail is better in Gears with ease, even in single player go up to a characters face and zoom in in R6V, the facial detail on the hostages is blank and looks poor and blurry. But then do the same on Gears, you can see each hair sticking out on Bairds head, you can see all the tiny wrinkles on Marcus's face, Gears is far better graphically. By the way I love both games but its so obvious Gears looks a lot better.

Just no? Are you saying that those muddy looking textures under Dom's feet in those GoW pictures are actually high res? Because no, those are actually muddy. Or that hostages look as good as the Rainbow team? Well no, that is not true at all. Or are you saying the player models are better in either game? Becuase they are both just as good looking.

I am simply saying that in no graphical category is R6V better looking than Gears, Gears has set a new benchmark for all next gen games, R6V hasnt really, R6V is great looking but just nowhere near as good as Gears. And of course there is the odd texture thats not quite up to scratch in Gears, but I didnt notice any that stood out, R6V however had loads, the game looks pretty washed out in general in terms of colour.

You really think RB6:Vegas even Compares to Gears? Go get those eyes fixed or lay off the dope. Gears textures make RB6 textures look sick lol. RB6 is barley better than an original Xbox game visually, Gears Absolutely Kills RB6. I have owned them both and whil I dislike them both Gears of War is on another plane of exsistence compared to Rainbow 6.
Im sorry but that is fact not opinion. Rainbow 6 doesnt do the unreal engine any justice what so ever.
Gears and Rv6 have very different kinds of graphics. Gears does 1 thing really, and does it really well. Its that old dingy texture on everything. Vegas does a great job working a lot of different kinds of details into the game. Really though, the appearance graphics wise is much better in Gears, but Vegas does more varied stuff with its graphics. Also, Vegas online can support 2x as many players etc.

Yes it can support 2 times as many players.........but look at the hit in graphics online, they are poor online and nowhere near as good as single player, Gears on the other hand is identical single and multi.
i must need an hdtv or something. Because the graphics in R6-V look blurry to me. I can hardly make out the enemy while playing that game. I was very disappointed.
