I just finished HALO 3 and i was wondering.....

What the hell happened in that cutscene after the credits was that a cliffhanger ending like HALO 2 and will there ever ba a HALO 4?

If anything, there will be a remake of sorts to the Marathon series. Halo is considered a prequel to Marathon but its still not for sure. only time will tell.

bungie already said that this would be their last halo game... halo wars doenst count since ensemble studios is making that.

Dude, basically, it was a way to say that the fight is finished, but MC is always around, "when we need him". Yes, I guess it leaves room for sequeals, but it really just ties everything up, and completes his character. MC wouldn't have looked right getting accolades at a ceremony. He just "finished the fight" and then went back to his cryo chamer, until humanity needs him again. I thought it was a perfect ending for this series.

bungie already said that this would be their last halo game... halo wars doenst count since ensemble studios is making that.

No they didn't.

They said: : that halo 3 would be the conclussion of the story of Ark. Not their final game.

However Bungie LIED. The flood is still alive on delta Halo and there are still 6 halo rings.

at the end though where they have all of the soldiers and medals lined up along that pelican there is a 117 scratched in to the side of it so do u think Master Chief died cuz if u remember when him and the arbiter were in that pelican on the way home a blue explosion entered the ship and then they cut to the huge memorialthing so this leads me to believe that MC died or am i wrong?

at the end on legendary it shows the ship thing they are on crashing on to a blue planet with that scary kind of noise.

my dumb question is: how did arbiter land, when he was on the same ship thing as mc and cortana????

The ship broke in half. The arbiter made it and they assume the cheif was killed. errr MIA "missing" since there was no body.

Did you guys not watch after the credits? They are floating in space and Cortana sent out a distress call, but said they might not find them for years. Chief goes in the cryochamber or whatever and just says wake me when you need me.

Which leaves the door open for other games.

Will there be a Halo 4? You CANT definitely say YES or NO. There is a Halo Wars coming out and after that its up in the air.

Though you gotta remember this is Microsoft.....i doubt they just leave that huge cash cow sitting there. That planet they are floating too could be the setting of an eventual Halo 4. But this could be like starcraft with no sequal for years.

Spoilers-

Master Chief and Arbiter were on the same ship, Arbiter was in the front and Master Chief stayed with Cortana in the back.

While they were going through the portal, only half of the ship made it (the front). Now since the Halo wasn't prepared to fire it only destroyed its self in an explosion it causedintead of all life around it.

Spoilers for after Credits Ahead-

Now since the halo wasn't prepared to fire Master Chief remained alive and was not killed in the explosion so he remained in the ship and it is free floating in space. Since the Arbiter asumed that he didn't survive the Halo, they had a memorial for his death.
