Ok I just bought a new 360, the question is im afraid of the rings of death. So should i cut up my xbox and put some new fans, maybe reapply the thermal paste, ect in an attempt to make it all last longer and cool it down better?

I'm not sure what kind of warrenty is on these newer 360's but im sure if i mod it, it will go bye bye. but in the long hull id be better off modding it right?

I think if i do mod it, i should do so before i ever turn it on?

thoughts plz :)

no, the new falcon models of 360s sold after the end of 07 have solved most of the rrod problems. The failure rate has gone down from 35% tojust under 10%.

dont void your warranty, as you may have other problems such as dvd drive failure, or something unrelated to heat. Then youll be regretting removing that sticker.

That is what I did with my launch Xbox 360 and it is still good to this day. Arctic Silver 5 FTW!

you have a 3 year warranty against RROD, so just leave it as it comes. Anyway newer models have been redesigned to reduce the risk of it happening

There is still a possibility that MS can detect a change in power usage in the console and ban you for modifications, even if it's just the fan.

Don't open up your 360 box or you'll void your warranty straight away. The newer models are much more reliable.I had a launch model that suffered the 3 rrod but im so glad i re-bought a 360 +now with the 3 years cover on rrod theres really no need to worry.Just switch it on and get on and enjoy it.

Dont mess with it until your warranty has ran out so if it does get RROD you can just take it back
