I just got Guitar Hero II and....

....played 30 minutes...what an incredible game. WOW!

But, I just tried to power up the system using Guitar controller and I see 3 RED LIGHTS OF DEATH!

Why? Jesus all mighty WHY??????????

I don't know maybe it's a coincidence but I never ever had any problems with xbox 360 before. I tried everything, unplugged all cables, hd driver, hd dvd driver the same result.

 I don;t know if my guitar hero II killed my system but THIS SUCKS HUGE DONKEY NUTS!

To all guys who just bought guitar II, you've been warned. Power up your xbox using guitar controller AT YOUR OWN RISK!

HEHE guitar hero not only kills rock music,but it destroys ur xbox to....double feature! 

WOW, i finished playing GH2 for an hour and then i pop it bakc in to my 360 and now it says cannot read disk!! now i was snapping! I said to myself it better be the disk and not the 360. BUt i put in GOW and again the disk is unreadable! i cant even play anygames now! bull man bull...............i called 18004myxbox and i need to get it fixed! 42.00 to fix it..they said i got a 75% discount....any of this happen to anyone else?!?!?TuTToAL

The 360 has Iron Maiden!!!!!! Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'v never played the game but now im officially getting it! Iron maiden Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why don't you plug it all back in and fire it up with normal controller and a different game. Make sure everything is in tight on both ends of 360 and Tv. It might work now that it's cooled down also if you have your 360 in a closed space make sure it has breathing room on all sides. Try firing gh2 up after trying a normal game then see if it works. If not that sucks.Nofearkid009

Thanks for your reply. I did everything, the result is the same. I have 3 red lights even if my dvdrom is empty. 3 red lights are coming up instantly when I press the power button. I tried all combinations with/without guitar controller, nothing is working.

I just packed my dead console and will replace it tomorrow 10 am. Damn, I was waiting for GH 2 for a year now and my system is dead. :( Ah well....

Apparently this really works (from all the responces this guy has gotten). And it looks like it could work.

i have played GH2 twice today, and both times i used the controller to turnon/off my 360. NO PROBLEMS here. sorry dude, but it sounds like your 360 was losing the battle and finally threw in the towel.mustang03

And instead of getting out the circuit board (if you don't want to, or don't know how), another person covered his 360 in towels to warm it up (same trick as the heatgun process but takes longer....about 20 minutes in total). That works too.MADVLAD123

oh and incase you were wondering how that's supposed to work, it basically re-smelts (slowly, but surely) the solter iron so that the circuits reconnect to the board. Microsoft apparently used cheap solter iron which unsticks easily (another reason why horizontal position for 360 is better than vertical).

 Yes, I checked TOWEL trick and I'll try to do it now. I've got nothing else to loose so TOWLIE here I come...

BTW, my xbox 360was ALWAYS in vertical position from day 1. Hmmm...Will keep you guys posted. I'm curious about towel trick...let's see if it'll work.
