Bioware has said it's a trilogy and they are going to show off the second game at GDC in March and talk about the level design and what they've learned from the first game.
Mass Effect is one of my favourite games on 360 and an excellent RPG. It is planned as a trilogy, so fingers crossed we get ME2 before the end of the year. If not, then I wouldn't mind getting a bit more DLC for the original :)
I thought the game was above average, but not by much. Shooting felt empty (I know it's an RPG, but still), the biotic powers were pretty cool and I liked the story.
Might see a sequel holiday season. I'm really hyped up for it Mass Effect had a lot of things little things that annoyed me, that they no doubt will fix in a sequel.
I just picked it up last week because it was only $20. If you can overlook the clunky combat and unplayable framerate then sure, I guess it's not bad. They have a lot to fix in the sequel.
I thought it was great, I just wish the leveling was more like Oblivion so I could pick which traits I had instead of having certain ones I'd never use.
