My 360 broke, and so I happily sent it in to get it repaired.

I just got it back today. I find out though that it is just a new system not my old one. Normally this would be a good thing, but my Hard Drive or Wireless Adapter was included in the packaging. I know I shouldn't have sent it w/ the adapter but that was a mistake. Even though. I should have least gotten something for it. I pay $140 to get it repaired and I get it with $200 less in value ($100 for hard drive, and $100 wireless adapter).

Ya. Im mad.

call them, because they should have it documented somwhere that you sent that wtuff w/ it.

This isn't the first time I've heard a story like this.  It's why I'm just replacing my dead system with an elite and an extended store warranty rather than putting up with all of that.

Sorry 'bout your gear, man.  Any way you can call someone at MS and starting throwing molotovs?

You shouldn't have sent it in with the HDD and Wireless Adapter, but I still doubt they are allowed to just take whatever you sent with it on accident. Call them, explain the situation and if they start to say you had bad luck, raise hell like there is no tomorrow.

Yeah, they do tell you not to send it in with that stuff, but even still you should be able to to get it back.

thats your fault, many a times have i heard from others who have sent it in, that they were told to remove all hardware and turn in just the system, i got the same thing told to me when i asked if i should give it to em to get fixed, hasnt yet but once it does im ghetting it fixed or in ur case replaced.but yea thats 100% your fault, unless they failed to tell you.

UPDATE: Ok. Now they are saying that It couldn't have been sent in the same package. Its in another warehouse waiting to be sent here. It sounds kinda fishy, but its hope.

There are like 10 warnings on the box they send you NOT to put any accessories in the box. It says that if you send hdds or games or whatever, you will not get them back. They also tell you this when you call customer support.

As weird as it sounds, the place that receives your package is not the same place that sends out the replacement. They have a repair departmet that tries to repair it, then a shipping department that sends out new ones when the repair department can't fix your original. They can't just walk your "extra" hardware over to the shipping team since they may actually be in different states. This all has to be handled separate. Just don't get upset when you get charged to ship your stuff back since it was your fault you put it in there. They may ding you for it.

I had to send mine in for repair  too but they specifically say not to send in your HDD and accessories.

I sent it in my own box. That way I they would get it about 1-2 days and 3-4 days.
