i didnt want them to make a COD4 set in modern times because you just cant have the magnitude of battles that you had in WW2. i mean now its all go in with infared and shoot people through walls and stuff and its not in your face action, istead you kill some you cant even see! i hope they make it so that there is still heaps of troops in the game instead of like a 6 man team and what not...
im glad that its different i will probably buy it now. WW 2 is done... it was done after the 50th MoH game and guess what WW 2 hasnt changed any since the last call of duty so how much would have changed in CoD 4 if they would have had it in WW 2? besides its still CoD not R6 so dont worry

 lol, i think modern warfare is a little more intense than you're making it out to be

i just hope this game is less linear. CoD games are so scripted it feels like i'm playing an on rails shootem up like Time Crisis sometimes. i want big open maps like the trainyard level in 2. The whole game should be that way.

I know what you mean, but if they did things just right, it might not be quite as bad as you might think.  Use a cover system like Gears of War, and implement some sort of "active reload" to make the slow reloading times a bit more interesting and less tedious. It could likely feel much like using the sniper rifle in Gears of War exclusively. A civil war game would certainly be paced much differently than the games we're used to, but it doesn't have to be a terrible game.
