thats not always true. although it is true a lot. look at NHL 08 vs. NHL 09. i played the Live 08 and 09 demo and although it is still a game of bball it gives u an idea of whats changed. I'll still to EA though and not 2K
I thought the 2k8 was quite ugly and the inability to actually make a block shot was just dumb. I'm leaning towards NBA Live this year but will wait for both demos to make that choice.
Blocking shot in 2k takes timing and anticipation. 2k is the more superior game. I have played live since 95. 2K feels like a real NBA game. It sounds like a real NBA game. The players move like real players on the court.
I sure hope the demo comes out soon although i got 2k9 preordered already hehe.
The NBA Live 2009 demo was impresive though, i havnt liked an NBA Live game since 1999, but this new nba live looks a little more realistic then the last few nba live games. Ill rent NBA LIVE 2009 and see how it is though and maybe ill have to buy both hehe. At least it seems from the nba 09 demo that EA is slowely making it a little more realistic then previous versions and its not a DUNK FEST every time down the court.

2k series has been better in every major sport except hockey than EA
