Lately, I've been thinking about getting an Xbox 360 this summer. Just the regular premium package, not the new Elite 360. I want a 360 for these games:

  • Kameo: Elements of Power
  • Viva Pinata
  • Banjo Kazooie 3
  • Call of Duty 2
  • Halo 3
  • Sega Rally Revo
  • Forza Motorsport 2

Good list?

I have some questions:

1. I don't have an HD TV. Will this be a problem?

2. I'm still skeptical about paying money to play on-line, even if Xbox Live is amazing. The 360 doesn't have built-in Wi-Fi, right? What would I need to have besides Xbox Live?

3. What is on just a Silver membership of Xbox Live?

4. What is the chance of there being a price drop on the 360 this year?

5. How is the backwards compatibilty? Is the emulation okay?

Thanks.

Good list of games (Kameo is good, that I can tell).

1) An HDTV would be great, but it's still worth it imo even without one.

2) You'll have a free month of XBL when you buy your 360. Find out whether you like it or not.

3) All I know is silver is basically worthless as you can't play multiplayer games. But you can still get demos.

4) No idea.

1. No it won't, I've been playing on a SDTV for the first few months, you can buy a VGA cable and hook it up to your monitor if it bothers you that much.

2. Xbox Live is PHENOMANAL, I strongly recomment you get it, You would need a Ethernet cable or a wireless adapter for Xbox Live.

3. You get a 1 month Gold Membership as soon as you hook up xbox live.

4. I'm sorry but I have no clue, I'm guessing with the elite out there would be a price drop soon but I'm just guessing.

Hope I helped you :).

good list of games and trust me games like alot better in hd but if you dont have one they still look great. an hd tv is just a really nice upgrade and your gonna want to get xbox live gold for just 50 bucks a year its well worth it. the price of the 360 probably not going drop right now and if it does it wont be a very dramatic one.

1. I've been playing on an SDTV since I've had my 360 (release day) and not having an HDTV is nothing to cry about.

2. Well £40 pound a year isn't bad at all, and it's completely worth it. I mean it lasts a whole year so it's rerally for nothing.

3. As said before you can't play online and you can only download demos, videos and maybe downloadable content for games (not to sure about the last one).

4. I wouldn't count on a price drop, and if there is it would be minor.

I just got my 360 yesterday! well ordered it. its 300$ at www.geeks.com and comes with a headset. but its refurbished.

Those games look like what im gonna get, except I already sprung for guitar hero2.

As for the price drop, they will probabaly drop it when the PS3 drops in price, and it will only be 50-100$

1. No not really....well, an HDTV would be ideal (at 720p or 1080p) but seeing as you dont really want to buy an elite then its not really a big deal and you wont notice a huge difference.

2. Yeah im kinda pissed that there isnt a wifi card in my 360 but its not a really big deal, you can just setup your DSL Modem and Router next to your 360 and get a wifi card for your computer (if you dont already have one)... seeing as the 360 wifi card is freakin expensive.

3. Nothing all the great free demos and crap... 'Go For The Gold' Multiplayer is HELLA FUN!

4. Not a big chance...if your looking for cheap get the core model.

5. Yes Emulation is freakin fantastic... with old arcade games coming out on XBL almost weekly, you can also pop is most of the greater hits on the old xbox, e.g. Halo, Halo 2.

Hope that helped!

In my opinion, game list is great except Sega Rally (I like simulators). If you haven't got a HDTV, you haven't any problems. Only you cannot profit from the resolution but you can connect the Xbox 360 to your monitor by means of VGA wire.

wait. just be patient and wait. Neither the 360 or ps3 is worth getting right now. The game library are both there, but their still needs to be more. wait a few months then decide. Right now, there really are only 2-3 games on the 360 library worth getting
