i was pretty much bent on getting a PS3 but i think i might get a 360 now. the Xbox 360 has been looking better and better lately while the PS3 has been looken worser and worser. I mean, 95% of games this gen are going to be multiplatform and it looks like the PS3 might even have 99% of their games multiplatform. First DMC4 and now maybe even Final Fnatasy XIII might go to the 360 and that was the main game i wanted the PS3 for. If FFXIII goes multi than FFVersusXIII will likely go also if the first does well which i know it will. Metal Gear Solid 4 might even go to the 360. also the new elite version looks really nice and improves on areas that i saw as being flawed with the actually hardware. its also $120-$200 cheaper which also is good. idk though maybe FFXIII wont go multi and the PS3 will pick up. im probably gonna just wait till june when i graduate since i dont have time to play games now anyways. by then everything should be working out one way or another...
Either way you'll have a ton of fun. I don't have a PS3, but luckily am fortunate enough to have a 360. If MGS4 comes to 360 I'll poop in every mail box in East Texas.

the thing m concerned about is the 360 not being able to handle as much as the PS3 because of PS3 having blu-ray (much more space) and the Cell (much more powerful if used right). i dont wanna get a 360 now and regret it later. thats why i think its best to just wait.
I was in a similar boat to you - after a lot of thought I plumped for the 360 and haven't looked back. The Xbox Live service in itself is worth its weight in gold and you would have to wait until November for PS3 Home, and even then it won't be totally unified in the way that the Xbox Live service is.

Same here. I have never owned a MS system my whole life (excluding PC). And I love my 360.
I have been thinking of just buying a PS3 just for Blue Ray, nothing more. I think the games on the 360 are good. and fun, live is okay if you play with people who are not sore losers, cheater, or winning kids. But if you play with a freind it is great. The HDVDV ad on is great, 200 bucks to, it is atleast $300 cheaper than a HDDVD player. But I see alot of movies I would liek to watch in HD are comming on blue ray, not saying that it is better than HDDVD, just they ways it is going for me. So a PS3 is only worth the blue ray, defanlty not for gaming.

as someone who has access to all 3 ext gen consoles and has played ps3's best, i can easily tell u call of duty 3 is far and away the ps3's bvest game. its not even remotely close.
The only thing the PS3 has right know going for it is the blue ray. As ive stated a thousand times before in other threads like this, give the PS3 time and the good games will come out eventually. I don't really care that many games which were thought to be exclusive to the PS3 are going multiplatform. The PS3 will deliver in time. I will go crazy however if MGS4 Guns Of The Patriots goes to the 360. I want atleast that game to be Sony exclusive.

Actually, the 360 is $200-$260 cheaper. The 20GB PS3 has been discontinued.

I was also planning to get a PS3 for like a year now but I've completely changed my mind. Getting a 360 for usre within a month or 2. The PS3 won't be worth it for another year and when the price drops. 360 is just simply the better system overall.
But 6 years is a long time, and i fully expect PS3 to pick up and start making waves. I figure 2 years and it will shine, because its going to take longer to learn how to develop for it properly, but once they do, it will be absolutly amazing, and will probably be the best.
But as for the right now, the 360 is ahead by far, jsut becuase of the games. And ill be sticking with it for a few years.

The Elite 360 is a rumor until MS says otherwise. I'd bank on it being not true, erring on the side of caution, y'know? As far as Final Fantasy XIII coming to 360? Nice thought, but I don't have my hopes up about it (I'd certainly like it to, since my fiancee loves FF and that's the only PS3 game we'd get at this point... I'm a Dragon Quest guy, personally and already have a DS)... I do see MGS IV coming to 360 eventually, though not necessarily at the same time as the PS3 version.

Actually, the 360 is $200-$260 cheaper. The 20GB PS3 has been discontinued. ya i know i wasnt talking about that. i was talking about the premium version ($400) and the elite version ($480).
