Ok I have gotten a new Xbox360 after my old one started acting stupid on me. it was lagging online in games and freezing randomly and would randomly sign out of Xbox Live. Now I got my new 360 and the freezing and lag are still happening. Now my 360 is in the middle of my living room with a fan blowing on it so it stays pretty cool. I have tried customer support for Microsoft and my Internet Provider. Restarting my router and modem and just cutting the power for a few minutes doesnt help. When I play a game like Gears or Vegas I just cannot find a game and it will say thatthe operation took too long or if I want to host a game. I know that its bull because thousands of people are playing Vegas or Gears at a time and not finding a game is rediculous. Now if I do find a game it starts out fine for the first ten of fifteen minutes but then starts lagging ridiculously. So the main point of this rant I am going on with is that I need your help people. Can someone give me any idea on what to do...???
Lagging online is usually an issue with your Internet connection. If two 360's do the same thing, you need to focus on the connection. If you have a PC in your house, you can connect to various speed testing websites to check to see what kind of bandwidth you're getting. You won't be able to exactly test the bandwidth of the XBL servers, but if you can do a bunch of tests to get the general speed of your connection, you can see if there is something the provider can do to make things better for you..
Well its kinda dificult to explain but basically my Modem is connected to the router and then connectedto logitech device I bought for my PS2 and it worked for a while on my 360but the problems all started about three and a half weeks ago when I started lagging nd logging off of Xbox Live for no reason. Ask for the freezing that mostly happens in the guide but it has happen in game a few times. Also everything works fine in Singleplayer.
If at all possible, plug your 360 directly into the cable modem just to diagnose if its either your router or the logitech thing thats causing the issue.
