I need help wtih Xbox live.

I just got an xbox live account, but I can't use my old gamer profile, so I had to make a new one. Is there a way I can turn my old gamer profile into my Xbox live account. I really don't want to go through 150+ hours of gaming and 57 achievements to get where I am now with my old profile.

None of my friends told me there was a way around it, and I never thought there was. I just started replaying everything. 57 Achievements is nothing. I had 12k gamerscore before I got Live between games I own, borrowed from friends, and rented. I will never have my gamerscore back exactly the way I did. In only two months, I'm already half-way there, so I can't say that losing three years of gaming has been that much of an upset.

I guess I should consider myself lucky then. I only lost about a month of gameing and I'm already on my way to bringing it back up. But it was an epic fail on Microsoft's part that we can't use our old gamer profile for Xbox live.
