Hi everyone. I suck horribly at the multiplayer in Rainbow Six Vegas. I always die about 25 times every game. All of my teammates always tell me that I suck. I do not know what to do. Can anybody give me tips to get better, including what weapons I should use? I am a specialist rank.

Play through the campaign mode and hone your skills there before going into multiplay. Other than that, spend more time with the game and you'll get good. You can also also find friends at your level and play against them and improve..

Beat the campaign on the hardest difficulty. It's helped me in every game I've played so far. Especially in CoD2.

basically be tactical...dont just go running gun crazy...also mobility is often better than protection and finally i would go with a sub machine gun these are often best...a good starter map is lvu campus which will help with your accuracy...playing the campaign is probably the best way to get better but enemies act differently to people over live...

For one thing, you don't play the game like Halo 2. You don't go charging into a room. Use grenades and the cover system. I use the gun that got unlocked when you become specialist. It's like the MPA7(something or other). You should always be looking around. Don't just walk in one direction. You have to be away that someone could pop out from anywhere.

You have to learn the mechanics of the game to have a chance.

R6V is NOT a run and gun game, if you try to run and gun you will get dominated.  Instead, use the cover system for starters.  If you are walking and come across an enemy don't move and fire, stand still and shoot.  This may seem stupid, but your aiming reticule will be at its most accurate if you stop moving to shoot the guy.

If you know that someone has spotted you, you have to move because, in most games, you will eat a grenade a few seconds later.

If you really aren't that good, don't go running in front of your teammates, hang back and watch what they do, learn the good spots to ambush enemies.

Don't take the biggest, mot powerful guns out in hopes of scoring a quick kill.  Try a gun like the MP9 or something similar.  Also, to help with your aiming, attach a laser sight (don't forget to turn it on by holding X and pressing to the right).  The laser sight actually increases your accuracy with a gun so its very helpful.

If its not restricted, try using a GPS, it really helps prevent you from being surprised by most enemies.

Personally, I toss on as much body armor as I can, that will help you live a bit longer in a 1 on 1 firefight.

And overall, it can't be stressed enough that you cannot, unless you are really amazing and have lightning fast reflexes, run around and kill people, you have to be a bit more methodical.

You should play "Sharpshooter" matches for a while until you get good - nobody will boot you from those because it's every man for themselves. Once you feel a bit more comfortable with your skill, you can jump into team games and hopefully they won't boot you (I hate when people boot guys from games - unless they're being incredibly annoying). Another thing good thing about playing Sharpshooter is that you will be able to learn the maps. Knowing the maps and the angles and where to expect people to be hanging out or coming from makes a big difference. As many folks have mentioned, you can't just run around like in Halo - you really need to move a bit slower and keep your eyes peeled. A good practice to get into would be to take cover in doorframes before entering rooms, or going from cover-to-cover in open areas. Whatever you do, don't just run blindly - you'll end up dead very quickly. Hope this helps!

Thanks guys. After reading all of your tips, my kill rate soared. Where I used to get 5 or 6 kills, today I was getting 15 or 16. And my average death rate of 25 was cut by 10. I also found that my best gun to use is the assualt rifle aug, and I epuip it with the silencer to keep it steady when I hold down the trigger. The only thing I don't like about multiplayer now is that you really don't strategize with your teammates. Besides that, I am playing better thanks to you guys. Thanks again!:D

I HATE PEOPLE WHO BOOT BASED ON SKILL. If you have a weak player, f**cking deal with it. Either use his noobishness as bait (I do this in gears when someone on my team enjoys running ahead and getting blasted..... wait while they get killed and then cap the guy who did it as his position will be compromised) even a complete gametard can lay down cover fire at least..... people who boot for that deserve to get their ass kicked. Anyone who plays enough to be that good is a patheitc loser with no life. So is anyone who cares about stats enough to boot anyone. End of story.
